Kidnapped Traditional Ruler of Ilemeso in Ekiti State, David Oyewunmi has regained freedom after spending five days in captivity. LIB reported earlier that Oyewunmi was kidnapped on April 16 at his palace after gunmen scaled the fence of the palace. Ekiti police spokesperson, Sunday Abutu who confirmed that the monarch has been released added that he is currently receiving medical attention at a health facility within the state following the trauma he experienced at the hands of the kidnappers. Channels Television reported that Abutu linked the release of the monarch to a combined effort of the police and local security outfits in the state.

The Lagos State Government has released a list of 88 centres where residents of the state can take the AstraZeneca COVID19 vaccine. The 88 centres cut across all 20 Local Governments of the State. A statement released by the state Commissioner for Health, Prof. Akin Abayomi, said the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine has been declared safe by the World Health Organization (WHO). Governor Duoye Diri has assented a bill prohibiting open grazing of livestock in Bayelsa state. The Livestock Breeding, Rearing and Marketing Regulation Law 2021 was signed into law on Wednesday March 10, at the Executive Chamber of Government House, Yenagoa. Diri stated that the essence of the law is to avert and forestall any clash between herdsmen, farmers, natives and non-natives as experienced in some states.
