Baby with Covid dies after being ‘abandoned’ by parents who ‘feared catching virus’

A baby with Covid died after being abandoned by its parents because they feared they would catch the virus, it has been reported.   The two-month-old child tested positive before dying on Sunday evening in the Shri Maharaja Gulab Singh Hospital in the Jammu region of India. 33 persons who were arrested and arraigned for not wearing facemasks in public places, have been convicted by an Abuja Mobile Court. Some of the convicts who reportedly violated the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) Health Protection Regulation, 2021 which was approved by President Muhammadu Buhari, pleaded guilty to the charges read out by the prosecutor and were fined N2,000 with an option of engaging in supervised community service.
