UEFA launched disciplinary proceedings against the three clubs last week after previously agreeing “reintegration measures” with the other nine, who apologised for partaking in the infamous Super League scheme. "Lenglet's a great player and I want him in my team," Nolito said. "I think he has the level to play for Barça. There's no reason for him to be jealous of the defenders they have. He's learning and he will be one of the best centre-backs in Europe if he continues like this." Nolito also felt that Sevilla deserved more at Camp Nou last weekend: "At San Mames [against Athletic Club] we didn't deserve to lose. Sevilla try to compete against all teams, the same at home as away. Little by little, we're playing better. Against Leganes, Spartak and Barça we played well."

Barcelona Shelve Plans To Sign Yerry Mina In January

Ernesto Valverde currently has two options to back up main centre-backs Gerard Pique and Samuel Umtiti, namely Thomas Vermaelen and Javier Mascherano. Both of these players have insecure futures at the Camp Nou but are not expected to leave until the summer, with Vermaelen's fate effectively sealed and his colleague's insecure given that he will be 34 at the end of the campaign. However there is also the small matter of Barcelona's deal with Mina's current club Palmeiras for the Colombian, which is set at an already agreed 9 million euro fee for a July 2018 move. That means that, should the Catalans want to buy Mina in advance of that date, they will have to go back to the negotiating table and such an outcome has been ruled out by technical secretary Robert Fernandez. Perhaps the only...

Barcelona Confirm Sergi Roberto And Andre Gomes Will Be Out Of Action For 3-5 Weeks

The goalless draw in Athens against Olympiacos brought not one but two injuries for Ernesto Valverde's squad. The FC Barcelona medical services have confirmed that Sergi Roberto and André Gomes will be out of action for between 3-5 weeks. The Catalan midfielder was replaced against the Greeks just before the break in the Georgios Karaiskasis and test have confirmed that he has a hamstring strain in his right leg and will be out for around five weeks. The injury comes just at the wrong time for Sergi Roberto as he has been an important part of Valverde's squad so far this season with 14 appearances in 15 matches in La Liga, the Champions League and the Copa del Rey. André Gomes came on against Olympiacos with just 15 minutes to go to replace Denis Suárez and picked up a thigh injury in hi...

Barcelona ‘To Bid For Monaco Midfielder Thomas Lemar’

The Daily Telegraph report that Barca are showing interest in the France international as they face having to reshape their midfield next summer. They are looking for a long term replacement for Andres Iniesta, and with their pursuit of Philippe Coutinho continuing to be frustrated by Liverpool, are now considering Lemar instead. Arsenal almost signed Lemar on transfer deadline day in the summer for a club record £90million, and although the deal fell through the Gunners remain keen. There is a complication, however, in that Arsenal were only able to bid £90m after accepting a bid for Alexis Sanchez, which also fell through. Sanchez is set to leave on a free next summer, along with Mesut Ozil, with both showing little inclination to extend contracts that expire in 2018. The situation l...

Max Allegri Confessed To Being “Disappointed” With Juventus

A victory here would’ve secured their qualification for the Round of 16, but after Bruno Cesar opened the scoring for the hosts, Gonzalo Higuain snatched a late equaliser. “It’s disappointing, as we had the chance to seal qualification and we didn’t do it. Now we’ve got Barcelona and then Olympiakos, so it’s all still up in the air,” Allegri told Mediaset Premium. “I am disappointed because the first half was ugly, the second was better, and we were a bit too chaotic. We should’ve been more organised. “We’ll keep the result tonight, which was the only good thing about the performance, really. “It was all so simple, we had to win here and then it’d all be done, we would be qualified. Evidently this team needs to feel fear in order to perform. It’s all still open, we have to go to Athens...

Gonzalo Higuain: “The Important Thing Was Not To Lose”

Bruno Cesar had put the hosts in front, but the Bianconeri fought back to equalise with a late Higuain dinked finish over the goalkeeper. “It was tough. Barcelona won here with an own goal, they started strong and it’s an important point. Now we need to recover and prepare for Sunday,” Pipita told Mediaset Premium. “The important thing was not to lose against a great side, we still have a three-point advantage over them and hope to secure qualification in the next two rounds. “I always try my best to help the team. We picked up an important point in a difficult arena.”

Ramos: “Winning LaLiga From Eight Points Back Is Possible”

Sergio Ramos spoke to Onda Cero's El Transistor radio show and spoke about Real Madrid's loss to girona on Sunday and the possibility of coming back from eight points behind Barcelona in LaLiga. "It's true that the mood is not pleasant, it's not good, because when you are at a club like ours we are not used to losing many games. You don't really get used to this feeling but it's true that you have to accept in but in a bittersweet way, but not too sweet, especially knowing our objectives like winning LaLiga. We can't give up points on the way and when you drop one, or three like we have in this instance, it hurts," he said. In terms of analysis after the game, Ramos says, "The normal thing, when you win, is that you talk more and other issues are raised about things but Sunday's circumst...

Ernesto Valverde Jokes About Neymar’s Possible Return To Barcelona

The Barça coach, who spent three years coaching the Greek side, was questioned on Neymar's visit to the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper over the weekend to catch up with his old teammates. It's led to reports that the Brazilian already regrets his decision to leave Camp Nou for Paris Saint-Germain in the summer and Valverde was asked if he'd take him back. "Neymar to return!?" he said before offering a smile. "What a question... I always like these questions. People like to try and push me to say something." More seriously, he added: "Let’s see what happens in the future but what am I going to say? I think it’s best if I say nothing really…"

PSG Coach Emery Denies Reports Neymar Is Disengaged At video Sessions

Paris Saint-Germain manager Unai Emery has denied reports that Neymar is disengaged during video review sessions. The Brazil superstar is set to return to the PSG line-up, having been forced to sit out last Friday's 3-0 home win over Nice after being sent off during a 2-2 draw at Marseille the previous weekend. The €222 million man has scored 10 times in 11 matches since arriving from Barcelona in August but recent questions have been raised over his commitment to the collective for the Ligue 1 leaders. Speaking at a pre-match news conference, Emery refuted such suggestions and denied reports Neymar doesn't pay attention during video session with his team-mates. "Neymar came here with the desire and motivation to work together with the club," he said. "He has all the qualities needed,...
