The three seminarians abducted from Christ the King Major Seminary in Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State, have been freed. The three Major Seminarians were abducted by armed persons from the Chapel of the Seminary in Fayit Fadan Kagoma, Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State, on Monday 11 October, 2021. A Franciscan nun from Colombia who was abducted in 2017 by fighters in Mali has been freed. Sister Gloria Cecilia Narvaez was released on Saturday October 9, after more than four years in captivity. She was taken hostage on February 7, 2017, by the Macina Liberation Front, an al-Qaeda-linked group in southern Mali near the border with Burkina Faso where she had been working as a missionary. A staff of Chimola School in Akure, Ondo State who was whisked away after gunmen hijacked a bus belonging to the school on Thursday morning has been freed. North Carolina Governor, Roy Cooper has granted a pardon of innocence to a man who had been in prison since 1995 for two murders he didn't commit. Darryl Anthony Howard, now 59, was convicted of two counts of second-degree murder for the 1991 deaths of Doris Washington, 29, and her 13-year-old daughter Nishonda, as well as first-degree arson. He was sentenced to two consecutive 40-year terms.The victims also appeared to have been sexually assaulted. In 2009, Howard's attorneys tested rape kits related to the case and found new evidence that pointed to other suspects. Unidentified gunmen have razed another police station in Imo State, few hours after Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and outgoing Inspector General of Police (IGP), Muhammed Adamu left Owerri, the Imo State capital. Torture house uncovered with 300 people in a flat

The police have stumbled on a torture centre in Daura, Katsina state, weeks after 400 people, including children were freed from the Rigasa-Kaduna house of horror. TVC News reports that the Daura house of torture is a traditional torturing centre meant to be a reformation centre for children with character deformation. More than 300 inmates, in critical conditions, were discovered in the small mud house. The house has been shut down by the Commissioner of Police in Katsina state. The police reportedly came in following a riot by the inmates over excessive abuses. The centre being operated by one Malam Bello, has been in existence for over 40 years with its brutal and dehumanization techniques of rehabilitation.
