Kidnapped corps members and 4 other Benue indigenes regain freedom

Two corps members who were kidnapped on their way to camp, alongside four other Benue indigenes kidnapped in Zamfara State, have regained their freedom. Jimin Geoffrey, the Social media aide to Governor Samuel Ortom, made this known in a statement released Wednesday morning, October 27. Zamfara speaker’s father still in captivity as other family members regain freedom

Bandits have released five family members of Alhaji Nasiru Magarya, Speaker of the Zamfara State House of Assembly who were kidnapped alongside his father. Recall that Nasiru's family members were abducted at Magarya community in Zurmi Local Government Area of the state on August 5, 2021. The state police command has already confirmed that five of them have regained freedom. The state police commissioner, Ayuba Elkanah said the Speaker’s family members who were rescued on September 29, include Dahiru Sarki Magarya, Hauwa Mu’azu Magarya, baby Khadija, Usman Magarya and Okasha Abdullahi Magarya. The Dodo of Wawa, Dr. Mahmud Ahmed Aliyu of Borgu in Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State has regained freedom. Adedamola, kidnapped 25-year-old son of former national secretary of the Nigeria Medical Association (NMA), Adewunmi Alayaki has regained freedom. The Delta State University (DELSU), students who were kidnapped along the Oria-Abraka Road on Sunday night have regained freedom. The two victims identified as Divine Omajuwa and Husseina Hamza of Geology and Pharmacology Departments respectively were reportedly abducted while on their way to school. Two nurses who were kidnapped while on night duty at Doka General Hospital in Kajuru area of Kaduna State, have regained freedom after 80 days in bandits’ den. The two nurses identified as Afiniki Bako and Grace Nkut, were kidnapped in April. The National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives ( NANNM), Kaduna State Chapter, Chairman Comrade, Ishaku Yakubu said they were released on Saturday, 10th July at about 7:00pm. Another Ekiti Monarch Abducted by gunmen

The traditional ruler of Eda-Ile Ekiti in Ekiti East Local Government Area, Benjamin Osho was on Friday June 25 abducted by gunmen. Ekiti police spokesperson, Sunday Abutu said the monarch was abducted from his farm alongside his wife by gunmen.
