Lightning Strikes three FRSC Officials Dead in Ogun

Three FRSC officials have died after they were struck by lightning in Ogun State. The tragedy occured early on Wednesday, June 17, in the ancient town of Ilese, near Ijebu -Ode, in Ijebu North-East local government area of Ogun State. The lightning struck at about 10am while officials of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) were preparing for the early morning parade within the vicinity of their office located at the old toll gate. According to Vanguard, a senior member of the Corps disclosed that there were about twelve officials in the same office when the lightning struck 3 of them. Okada Riders Burn FRSC Office in Minna

A group of commercial motorcycle, Okada riders, in Minna, Niger state on Friday razed down the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC office over the alleged death of one their members. According to a report by The Punch, the death of the rider was alleged to have been caused by the FRSC officials. It was learnt that the late motorcyclist rode against traffic along the GRA in the state and in a bid to arrest him, the FRSC officials on patrol opened their vehicle door to block his motorcycle. Over 20 People Die In Auto Accident Along Kaduna-Abuja Expressway

Prosecute Abia Speaker, Wife Over Shooting Of FRSC Officials – Corps Spokesman

The Federal Road Safety Corps has called for the arrest and prosecution of those involved in the recent shooting of two of its officials in Abia. The Public Education Officer and spokesman of the Corps, Mr Bisi Kazeem, made the call on Tuesday while reacting to the reported dismissal of a Police Corporal, Iroh Orji, over the incident. Orji, who was an orderly to the Speaker of Abia House of Assembly, allegedly pulled the trigger on the FRSC officials at their duty post on July 15. The state Commissioner of Police, Mr Leye Oyebade, announced Orji’s dismissal from the Force on Monday, saying that he was found guilty of the offence during an orderly room trial. Psychiatric Test For Traffic Lawbreakers Begins July 1 – FRSC

The Federal Road Safety Corps has said that it will commence the enforcement of psychiatric test on traffic law offenders in the country with effect from July 1, 2017. The Corps Marshal, Dr. Boboye Oyeyemi, stated this at the opening of a five-day training programme for 22 FRSC officials on traffic safety for non-motorised transportation in Abuja on Monday. According to a statement by Bisi Kazeem, the FRSC Corps Public Education Officer, Oyeyemi said the test would focus on four areas of violations including use of phone while driving, beating traffic light and route violations as well as dangerous driving. 26 Burnt To Death In Lagos-Ibadan Expressway Accident

Twenty-six people were confirmed dead in a crash involving two buses on Lagos/Ibadan Expressway on Saturday. Public Relations Officer of the Oyo State Police Command, Adekunle Ajisebutu, who confirmed the accident, said it happened around 7am when two commercial buses burst into flames as they collided. He said apart from the 26 people burnt to death, 11 others which included three children were seriously injured.
