Akeredolu imposes 24-hour curfew on Ikare Akoko

Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu has imposed a 24-hour curfew on Ikare Akoko in Akoko North-East local government area of Ondo state. The directive is enclosed a statement released by Donald Ojogo, the Commissioner for Information and Orientation. Earlier on Monday, violence rocked the Ikare Akoko community over the Olokoja chieftaincy title. Chief Ogunye Idowu and Chief Sunday Bada have also been barred by Governor Akeredolu from parading themselves as Olokoja of Okoja. The Lagos State Government has said 89 men reported that they were battered by their wives in cases of domestic violence between 2020 and the first quarter of 2021. The Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation (WAPA), Cecilia Bolaji Dada, stated this on Tuesday at a ministerial news conference to mark the second year of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu in office, held in Ikeja, Lagos. Governor of Borno State Babagana Umara Zulum has handed over the government of Borno state to his deputy, Umar Usman Kadafur. Zulum had on April 23, 2021, written to the Borno Assembly, seeking the lawmakers’ approval to proceed on 21 days vacation. The Governor had also requested that in compliance with provisions of section 190 (1) of the constitution, which made him notify the House, the Assembly should approve the Deputy Governor to serve as acting Governor throughout the 21 days, in order to constitutionally give him the full powers to handle Borno State’s affairs without resort to the Governor. Fake Internally Displaced Persons Discovered in Borno Camp

Borno state governor, Babagana Zulum, has discovered fake internally displaced persons at the Mohammed Goni College of Islamic Legal Studies in Maiduguri, where internally displaced persons from Abadam local government area of northern Borno were being camped. Governor Zulum at about midnight on Sunday March 7, stormed the camp and immediately sealed entrance and supervised a headcount to identify actual IDPs, in order to put a stop to rampant cases of dubious residents pretending to be displaced, who spend day times at IDP camps to share food meant for IDPs, and towards the night, they return to their homes to sleep, with some of benefiting from other means through which the state distributes food to vulnerable non IDPs in communities. Mammoth crowd as Katsina billionaire buries his son killed in power bike accident

Mammoth crowd of sympathizers, former Governors, friends, government officials and associates bid farewell to Nura Dahiru Mangal, the son of Katsina billonaire businessman, Alhaji Dahiru Mangal, as his remains were buried today March 4. No Ransom Was Paid to Rescue Kagara Students – Niger state Governor, Abubakar Bello says

The governor of Niger State, Abubakar Bello, has said that no ransom was paid to secure the release of the Kagara schoolboys and their teachers from their abductors. Governor Okowa’s aide, Okiemute Sowho, Shot Dead by Suspected Assassins

The Special Assistant to Delta State Governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa on Youth development, Comrade Okiemute So who has been killed by suspected assassins in Sapele. 40-year-old Sowho was shot dead around 6 p.m. on Saturday evening February 20, near a popular hotel along Akintola road close to the Adeniyi end of the town.
