The Returning Officer for the Abia State gubernatorial election, Professor Benjamin Ozumba has declared the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Dr Okezie Victor Ikpeazu, as the winner of the election. Dr Okezie Ikpeazu, who polled 261,127 to defeat his rivals of the APC and PDP, is the incumbent governor. Professor Ozumba said Dr Ikpeazu, having satisfied all electoral requirements and scored the highest number of votes, is declared the winner and returned elected.
