There are only four musicians in Nigeria whose music have been nominated for the Grammys – Seun Kuti insists

Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti, is insisting that only four Nigerians have ever been nominated for the Grammy Awards. Seun made this assertion earlier this month, and according to him, the four Nigerian artists with Grammy nominations are Burna Boy, his brother Femi Kuti, King Sunny Ade and himself. In a post shared on his Instagram page this morning, Seun who is the son of legendary Afrobeat singer. Fela, dismissed claims of any other Nigerian artiste being nominated for the prestigious award apart from the artist he mentioned.   See his posts below

The Grammy music awards slated for January 31 in Los Angeles have been postponed until March over COVID-19, which has been rapidly spreading in California. The Recording Academy released a statement saying it rescheduled the show to March 14, a week earlier than the date briefly listed on its website. A Grammys 2019 Winners List has been Leaked | Recording Academy Responds

The Recording Academy has reacted to reports of a leaked winners list for the 2019 Grammy Awards. The Academy has reportedly also reached out to their legal team about potential legal action. In a statement shared with Billboard, the Recording Academy spokesperson says: There is no legitimacy to this. Grammy Awards results are not shared, even with Recording Academy staff members, until the day of the Grammy Awards ceremony, when names of the recipients are delivered by Deloitte in sealed envelopes. There was a tweet circulating that allegedly leaked some of the 2019 Grammy winners. The tweet’s attached video also showed an alleged winners’ list from the Recording Academy’s website and also claims to have seen a deeper list of winners from a supposed hack of the site.
