Suspected ritualists kill 16-year-old girl, chop off her body parts

Some suspected ritualists have killed a 16-year-old girl identified as Rihanat Yusuf. The incident occurred at  Amuyo area in Offa Local Government Area in Kwara state. It was gathered that Rihanat was running an errand for her parents at the time of the incident. She went missing after leaving the house to get groundnut cake (Kuli kuki) to have Garri for lunch. A missing person complaint was filed at Offa Divisional Police headquarters by her father, Yusuf Taofeeq, after a search in the community was unsucessful.   Her dismembered body, with her head and two hands missing, was reportedly discovered at an uncompleted building in the area.   Kwara police spokesperson, Ajayi Okasanmi said two of the suspects have been arrested and they have confessed to the crime....

  The Ondo state command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, have arrested a 35-year-old bricklayer, Dayo Samuel, for allegedly raping a 13-year-old daughter of his neighbor in the Ijoka area of Akure, Ondo State. Parading the suspect before newsmen, the state Commandant of the NSCDC, Pedro Awili, said the suspect had threatened to kill the victim if she told anybody that he defiled her. “Abuse and defilement of minors have becoming a recurring crime in Ondo State and NSCDC has been collaborating with other security agencies to ensure that the trend is brought to an end in the state. Court Remands Ex-Convict For Stealing Bread, Groundnut

An Oredo Magistrate Court 5 in Benin, on Friday, remanded one Bright Idiye, 22, in prison custody for allegedly stealing a loaf of bread and groundnut worth N750. Idiye, who was arraigned before Chief Magistrate I.N. Osayande on one count of stealing, pleaded guilty to the charge. The accused was said to have committed the offence at Iyaro, Benin, on July 16, 2017 barely 24 hours after being released from prison. According to the charge, Idiye stole a loaf of bread worth N450 and groundnut worth N300. The accused, who was remanded at Oko Medium Prison, was said to have been released from the same prison custody on July 15, 2017. Magistrate Osayande adjourned the case until July 24 for hearing.
