Gunmen kidnap final year student in Plateau, demand N1m ransom

Suspected kidnappers have abducted a final year student of the Federal College of Education, Pankshin, Plateau State, Gele Felix Gonzuk. It was gathered that the student, who operated a provision shop close to the institution, was abducted by the gunmen on Wednesday night, July 7. Kidnapped Jos lawyer regains freedom

A lawyer who was kidnapped by gunmen in Jos on Monday evening, July 5, has regained freedom. Gyang Zi was driving home after closing from work when the gunmen attacked him within the Little Rayfield Government House in Jos and kidnapped him, leaving his car behind. His car was later found on Tuesday morning, July 6, with the windows wound down on an untarred road beside the fence of the Government House. The bread he had bought was visible in the car seat. A resident who saw the car filmed it and expressed concern that the owner of the car might have been kidnapped since the car had been there since the previous night and a beeping sound was coming from the car. The senior lawyer eventually regained freedom on Tuesday evening allegedly after N10 million ransom was paid.

Another Ekiti Monarch Abducted by gunmen

The traditional ruler of Eda-Ile Ekiti in Ekiti East Local Government Area, Benjamin Osho was on Friday June 25 abducted by gunmen. Ekiti police spokesperson, Sunday Abutu said the monarch was abducted from his farm alongside his wife by gunmen. The monarch’s wife was said to have been immediately released by the gunmen apparently to enable her to mobilize for payment of ransom. Gunmen Raze another Police Station in Delta

Ashaka Police Station in Ndokwa East LGA of Delta State has been razed down by gunmen who attacked in the wee hours of Sunday June 6. The gunmen numbering about 20 also burnt a patrol van during the raid. This is reportedly the third station to be attacked in the state in the last one month. Acting Police Spokesperson in the state, DSP Bright Edafe confirmed the incident but said no life was lost.
