Vigilante Leader Killed as Bandit Attack Katsina Community

Gunmen suspected to be bandits attacked Shagari quarters in Funtua Local Government Area of Katsina State and killed the leader of a vigilante group in the area, Ali Bahago, after a gun duel. The bandits also kidnapped one Mr. Alex, a staff of First Bank and two daughters of one elder Hassan, who slumped and died during the invasion. A resident of the quarters, who survived the attack, Sagir Mohammed, told THISDAY on Friday, that the suspected bandits stormed the quarters at about 11:15pm on Thursday, February 11, and operated for over 30 minutes, leaving many occupants of the quarters with varying degrees of injuries. Weeks after a lady gave birth to a baby with three legs in Kaduna, the second wife of a man identified as Malam Hassan Ibrahim, has given birth to a baby with 4 legs, 2 genitals at Sabon Garin Makiyawa in Magama Jibia, Katsina State. According to Dailytrust, 20-year-old Zainab delivered the baby on March 9, 2018. Hassan and Zainab have been married for four years and are already blessed with a three year old son, Fahad. 26-Year-Old Caleb University Student Arrested For Drug Peddling, Impersonating Military Officer

Ahmed Hassan 26, a student of student of Architecture of Caleb University, has been arrested in Lagos for impersonating a Naval officer. According to Punchng, the 200l student of  Caleb University was arrested with an accomplice, Ibrahim Yahaya, a commercial motorcycle rider he met in the Sabo, Ikorodu, where he made him believe that he was an Air Force Flying Officer. It was gathered that Yahaya consequently became his errand boy and assisted him in buying hard drugs. He, however, met his Waterloo on January 30, when he asked Yahaya to bring 11 packs of codeine and a pack of Rohypnol to his school. Alhaji Mato Yakubu, State Director, National Orientation Agency (NOA) has decried the high level of indiscipline and drug abuse among youths, especially secondary school students. Yakubu expressed his concern during a sensitisation programme on drug abuse among primary school and secondary school students organised at Central Primary School Gombe on Tuesday. Matthew Page, former United States intelligence community’s top expert on Nigeria, has said that the U.S. and the United Kingdom are the biggest recipients of funds looted from Nigeria. Banks Trading Below Minimum Liquidity Ratio – MPC Members

Four commercial banks in the country are operating with too many non-performing loans on their books and with liquidity ratios below the minimum requirement, two members of the Central Bank of Nigeria’s Monetary Policy Committee have said in statements on the bank’s website. The two MPC members, Dr. Doyin Salami and Prof. Balami Dahiru Hassan, did not name the lenders, but said the four banks together were equivalent to at least one Systemically Important Bank. The five men, charged with illegally importing 661 pump-action rifles into the country in a 40-ft container, are to remain in prison as a Federal High Court, Lagos, has fixed July 6 for ruling on their bail applications. The accused are: Mahmud Hassan, Oscar Okafor, Donatus Achinulo, Matthew Okoye (who is said be at large), and Salihu Danjuma. A 42-year-old livestock farmer, Segun Onagunwa, has drowned inside a well on his farm on Joe Arubiewe Street, Mosan, in the Egbeda area of Lagos.
