Police confirm attack on Bende Police station in Abia1

The Police Command in Abia has confirmed that hoodlums numbering at least 100, attacked Bende Station in Abia, leaving two operatives with gunshot wounds. MCI reported that the hoodlums set the station on fire at about 11pm on Wednesday. A source who spoke to newsmen said they heard sounds of gunshot around 10.45pm and when they rushed outside, saw the station on fire. “At that point, it dawned on us that the station was under attack so everybody began to scamper for safety,” the source said. Confirming the incident, the Spokesman of the state command, SP Godfrey Ogbonna, said two officers were shot in the leg by the attackers. Stray Bullet Kills NSCDC Official Inside her home During Army and Hoodlums Shoot Out in Imo state

A stray bullet has killed an officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps in Imo State. Mrs Glory Nkwocha was at her house with her family on Thursday, May 6, when a stray bullet from a gun duel between combined security operatives and hoodlums in Orlu town hit her. Mrs Nkwocha was immediately rushed to the Intensive care unit of the Federal Medical Center, Owerri, where she later died on Friday, May 7. An attack by unknown gunmen at Orlu Divisional Police Headquarters in Imo state, was repelled by Joint security operatives on Thursday night, May 6. Eight hoodlums were killed in the gun battle that ensued and it was also learnt that joint security operatives recovered seven vehicles the attackers came in for the operation. Eyewitnesses said the gun battle between the gunmen and the security operatives lasted several hours, as the military sent reinforcement from the 34 artillery brigade, Obinze, in Owerri. The Independent National Electoral Commission has announced its office in Essien Udim Local Government Area in Akwa Ibom State has been set ablaze by unknown hoodlums. Festus Okoye Esq, the National Commissioner, and IVEC Chairman disclosed this in a statement on Sunday, April 2. At least 3,921 suspected armed robbers, cultists, murderers, hoodlums and COVID-19 violators have been arrested by operatives of the Lagos Police Command, Commissioner Hakeem Odumosu said on Monday. Hoodlums Attack Police Station in Imo

Unidentified hoodlums on Thursday, February 25, attacked the Divisional police headquarters in Aboh Mbaise in Imo state. A statement released by the spokesperson of the command, Orlando Ikeokwu, says the hoodlums drove in four cars, shooting sporadically into the air as they arrived the station. ''The officers on duty engaged them in a gun duel , at the end of the melee, one Police woman sustained gun shot injury and has been taken to the hospital for treatment. Regrettably, the station that was just renovated after being razed down by hoodlums during the EndSars saga, was again set ablaze.''the statement read Ikeokwu added that the Commissioner of Police, Imo State, CP Nasiru Mohammed, has activated all tactical teams with a view to fish out and arrest the fleeing hoodlums.

Anambra CP, Kuryas Visits Checkpoint Attacked By Hoodlums

The new Anambra State Commissioner of Police, Mr Monday Bala Kuryas, has visited two spots in Mkpologwu, Aguata Local Government Area and Omogho in Orumba North, where gunmen attacked police patrol teams this morning. According to eye witnesses, the gunmen who drove in both a salon car and a Mercedes Benz 4Matic SUV, opened fire on the policemen who had been deployed on patrol in the two areas. The attackers also set a police patrol van on fire. There was no immediate motive for the attacks or the number of casualties involved as at the time of this report, but the Anambra State Police Commissioner has assured that the hoodlums would soon be captured.
