Igangan Attack: How Fulani Herdsmen Killed Amotekun Commander, Three Others

According to a report by SaharaReporters, some gunmen who are suspected to be Fulani herdsmen, who invaded Igangan, Ibarapa North Local Government Area of Oyo State, killed four residents including a commander of the South-West security arm, Amotekun. SaharaReporters had reported that the gunmen, who disguised in custom uniform, stormed the town on Friday night, shooting sporadically. The Commander of Amotekun Corps in Ibarapa Central simply identified as Muri and three other villagers were killed in the attack, a source said. The attackers were said to have stormed the town in Hilux vans, an 18-seater Hummer bus, and a Toyota Sienna bus wearing customs camouflage. Again, Gunmen Invade Ibarapaland, Number Of Victims Unknown

According to a report by The PUNCH, serious panic gripped residents of communities in Ibarapaland, Oyo State, on Friday night, as gunmen invaded Igangan, Ibarapa North Local Government Area of the state and allegedly opened fire on some persons. Residents of the town told our correspondent that the gunmen, who allegedly dressed in Customs uniform, invaded the town around 7 pm, shot and killed an unspecified number of people they met at the entrance of the town before fleeing. The eyewitnesses said they did not know the number of persons killed by the gunmen, but that one of the sources had claimed that one person was shot dead by the rampaging hoodlums. Farmer Dies In Ibadan After Fulani Herdsmen Set His Cashew Farm Ablaze

An Igangan-based farmer, Alfa Sikiru Akinlotan, from Gbogi Compound, Isale Akao Area, Igangan, Ibarapa North Local Government, died on his farm on Wednesday after Fulani herdsmen set his cashew and cocoa farm ablaze. SaharaReporters gathered that he died while trying to quench the fire on his farm. The commandant of Amotekun in the state, Col. 125,000 Million Women Vaccinated Against Tetanus In Oyo

The first 2017 round of Maternal Neonatal tetanus Elimination Campaign had vaccinated 124,852 women against tetanus in seven local governments in Oyo State. Mr Steve Akinrinade of the South West zonal office of the National Primary Healthcare Development Agency, made this disclosure while giving a feedback on the first round of trismus vaccination in these local governments with a high risk of trismus. The seven high-risk local governments in Oyo State are Itesiwaju, Oyo West, Ibarapa North, Atisbo, Iwajowa, Saki West and Saki East. Akinrinade said the exercise which was targeted at 137.046 women recorded 91 percent coverage on the average, with the least coverage in Iwajowa local government put at 80 percent.
