COVID-19: Delta Women Stage Protest Over Two Weeks Lockdown Extension In The State (Photos)

Women in Sapele, Delta state today staged a protest over the extension of the lockdown in the state. The state governor, Ifeanyi Okowa, on Tuesday April 14th, announced a two weeks extension of the lockdown in the state. The state currently has three confirmed cases of COVID-19 with one death. The protesting women say they are hungry and do not have food to feed themselves or their family members. They are demanding the state government to lift the ban on movement of restriction for them to about their businesses so they can provide for their families. Ifeanyi Okowa Extends Movement Restriction By Another 14 Days

Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa, has announced the extension of a movement restriction order earlier put in place in the state for another 14 days. This, according to him, is to further help curb the spread of Coronavirus in the state and country at large. Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari on Monday during a nationwide broadcast announced the extension of the lockdown of Lagos, Ogun and FCT to curtail the spread of the virus. Nigeria so far has 343 cases of Coronavirus and 10 recorded deaths.

Kidnap Kingpin, Dracula Dies Under Mysterious Circumstances In Police Custody

Policemen in Delta State have confirmed the death of a suspected kidnap kingpin, Anthony Ogbalor, alias Dracula in their custody. The deceased was arrested a few weeks ago by men of the state police command. The command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Andrew Aniamaka said that the victim died in the hospital where he was rushed to for treatment from an unidentified ailment. “Yes, it is true that a suspected kidnap kingpin who goes by the name Dracula and who was in our custody had died in the hospital where he was rushed to due to some complications. “The cause of his death is yet to be ascertained as we are still for the autopsy reports from the hospital where he was confirmed dead,” he said.
