Author of Nigeria’s National Pledge, Prof. Felicia Adedoyin, Dies at 83

Professor Felicia Adebola Adedoyin, the author of Nigeria’s National Pledge, has died after a brief illness. She died on Saturday, May 1, 2021, according to Inside Oyo. Prof. Adedoyin, who lectured at the University of Lagos and was a consultant with the United Nations, wrote the National Pledge in 1976. She was inspired to write the pledge following questions by her children who had been used to reciting the Oath of Allegiance while in school in New York, and the State Pledge in Achimota School, Ghana. Former NCAA DG, Muhtar Usman dies at 63

Former Director-General of the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA), Capt. Muhtar Usman has died. He was 63 years old.   Family sources say late Usman died at a hospital in Zaria, Kaduna state after a brief illness on Tuesday night, December 1.   Born on December 5, 1956, late Usman assumed office as the DG of the aviation regulatory body in October 2014, and served for five years. The chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress in Taraba State, Comrade Peter Gambo, has died. Late Gambo died at the Taraba State Specialist Hospital Jalingo after a brief illness today Wednesday, July 15. The family of a man named Godwin Chukwudi Julius Akano, 48, who died while in police detention, are asking for answers from the police. The late Julius, an importer of goods from Europe, was arrested on May 22 for alleged complicity in a case of fraud with one Obinali Osunwoke. A member of the Gombe state task force on COVID19, Shuaibu Danlami, has died from Coronavirus complications .
