Rangnick warned to stop using 4-2-2-2 formation after 1-1 draw with Newcastle

Ex-Manchester United defender, Gary Neville, has told interim manager Ralf Rangnick to abandon his preferred 4-2-2-2 system. Rangnick was appointed in late November after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was sacked at Old Trafford. The German won both of his Premier League fixtures 1-0 against Crystal Palace and Norwich. However, United battled to a 1-1 draw against an impressive Newcastle side on Monday night. Neville feels Rangnick may soon be forced to change the tactical set-up to get the most out of his players. He said: “The problem with this system is twofold. One is that ultimately you don’t have the balance at times. When you’re defending, you actually become a 4-4-2. The issue you’ve got is you’ve got to have a partner for Ronaldo. “It will be interesting to see him ditch...

Yoane Wissa scored a dramatic late winner for Brentford as they beat West Ham 2-1 and continued their impressive start to Premier League life. It was hard to know who were the newly-promoted side and who were playing in Europe as Brentford pummelled West Ham in the first half, grabbing a deserved lead when Bryan Mbeumo's strike was awarded by the goal-line technology on 20 minutes. On the West Ham United vs Rapid Vienna game, Owen said, “West Ham continue to pick up some impressive wins under David Moyes. The 2-0 win in Zagreb in the opening...
