Represented at the event by a former military governor of Bauchi State, Major General Chris Garuba (rtd), Gowon said the problems in the country are also weighing the President down. “There is no nation in Africa that does not have challenges. APC Threatens To Report Mbaka To The Pope & To Expose Him

Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the ruling All Progressives Congress APC, Yekini Nabena, has cautioned the Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, against making statements that could cause instability in the country, threatening to expose him to the Pope. Mbaka had called on the National Assembly to impeach President Muhammadu Buhari if he fails to resign over increased insecurity in the country. Reacting to Mbaka’s statement Friday in Abuja, Nabena said it was unfortunate for a man of God “who is supposed to deploy all known spiritual means of averting crisis but rather threatening a democratically elected government for his own personal benefits while pretending to be speaking for the people.” While making reference to the book of Mark 4: 35-4...

Mourinho Blames Individual Mistakes for Tottenham’s 2-2 Draw with Newcastle

Tottenham Hotspur manager, Jose Mourinho, has blamed individual mistakes for his side’s 2-2 draw with Newcastle United on Sunday. Joelinton gave Newcastle the lead in 28 minutes before Harry Kane’s brace put Spurs in front after the first 45 minutes. However, Arsenal loanee Joe Willock scored a late equalizer for the Magpies as both teams shared a point each. “It’s not a good point. We came here with the objective to win it, so (I am) not happy with a point,” Mourinho said at a post-match press conference. “I don’t want to go very deep on my analysis because what I feel, what I think, what I want to say, cannot be with you. It can only be in the dressing room.” He added, “I would say that (there were) too many individual mistakes and then mistakes give instability and ma...

Ogunlewe, son get APC membership cards

The Lagos State Chapter of All Progressives Congress (APC) said it had issued membership cards to a former Minister of Works, Sen. Adeseye Ogunlewe and his son, Moyosore. The Assistant Publicity Secretary of the party in the state, Mr Abiodun Salami, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Thursday in Ikeja that both were issued cards earlier in the day. Ogunlewe recently announced his defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the APC over what he called instability in his former party. His son, Moyosore who was the PDP candidate for Kosofe 1, state house assembly seat in the 2019 elections but lost to APC, had earlier defected to the ruling party. Salami said the issuance of cards to both defectors at the ACME Road party secretariat meant they were now regi...

Buhari’s Government Is Driving Nigeria Towards Disaster & Instability — Obasanjo

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has said that the President Buhari-led government is driving Nigeria towards “disaster and instability”. Obasanjo said this in an exclusive interview with Premium Times at his Ibogun Olaogun ancestral home in Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State, last month. The former president fell apart with Buhari ahead of the 2019 general elections and endorsed the president’s closest rival and his estranged vice president, Atiku Abubakar. Speaking during the interview, Obasanjo noted that although the country has made considerable progress since the new dispensation began in 1999, the pace at which it is currently moving shows the nation may be inching towards disaster and instability. “I think we have no choice but to be on the path for sustainab...
