Met Police constable charged with rape after sex attack in the City of London

A serving Metropolitan Police officer has been charged with rape. PC Adam Zaman, 28, who is based on the East Area Command Unit, was charged by the City of London Police on Wednesday October 27. He has been remanded in custody after appearing at Westminster Magistrates' Court. The charge relates to an incident which is alleged to have occurred in the City of London on the evening of Sunday, October 24 when Pc Zaman was off duty, the Met said. The force's Directorate of Professional Standards has been informed and Pc Zaman has been suspended.
