Three Kidnappers Killed in Gun duel as Police rescue Abducted Wife of Benue Commissioner

Operatives of the Benue joint security patrol team code-named ‘Operation Zenda' have killed three suspected kidnappers and rescued Mrs Ann Unenge, wife of the State Commissioner for Land and Survey, Hon. Aondoaver Unenge Bernard. Mrs Unenge was kidnapped around 6pm on Thursday, July 29, shortly after she returned from Daudu town, an outskirt where she went to visit her parents. The kidnappers were neutralised during a fierce gun duel with men of Operation Zenda on Monday, August 2, while three other suspects allegedly escaped.

Gyet Maude, the kidnapped traditional ruler of Jaba Chiefdom in Kaduna State has regained his freedom. LIB had reported that the 83-year-monarch Jaba Chiefdom was kidnapped on Monday July 26, on his farm at Gitata community in Nasarawa State. He was released by his abductors on Wednesday evening, July 28, after spending two days with his abductors who had demanded for N100m ransom. A source within the traditional council, Anthony Maude, told Channels Television that the monarch returned to his palace along with some of his aides. The Delta State University (DELSU), students who were kidnapped along the Oria-Abraka Road on Sunday night have regained freedom. The two victims identified as Divine Omajuwa and Husseina Hamza of Geology and Pharmacology Departments respectively were reportedly abducted while on their way to school. They were released on Tuesday at midnight. One of their friends, Stephen Odje, who was in their company, was shot dead during the attack. Two kidnapped Kaduna nurses regain freedom after 80 days in bandits’ den

Two nurses who were kidnapped while on night duty at Doka General Hospital in Kajuru area of Kaduna State, have regained freedom after 80 days in bandits’ den. The two nurses identified as Afiniki Bako and Grace Nkut, were kidnapped in April. The National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives ( NANNM), Kaduna State Chapter, Chairman Comrade, Ishaku Yakubu said they were released on Saturday, 10th July at about 7:00pm. 14 people have been kidnapped by bandits at Ungwan Matari within the Sabon Tasha, Chikun Local Government Area of Kaduna State.   The bandits who invaded the community which is adjoining Gbagyi villa towards Romi River at about 11pm on Wednesday night, reportedly shot sporadically, broke down fences and windows in a bid to gain access into the houses of the residents they kidnapped.   Among the victims were a landlord and some of his tenants. Gyang Zi was driving home after closing from work when the gunmen attacked him within the Little Rayfield Government House in Jos and kidnapped him, leaving his car behind. His car was later found on Tuesday morning, July 6, with the windows wound down on an untarred road beside the fence of the Government House. The bread he had bought was visible in the car seat. Gunmen kidnap babies and health workers from Tuberculosis and Leprosy Hospital in Kaduna
