Tuchel Slams Chelsea Players after 3-3 Draw against Zenit

Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel has criticized the attitude of his players after their 3-3 draw with Zenit in the Champions League on Wednesday. Zenit’s stoppage-time equalizer cost Chelsea the top spot in the group and meant they go into the knockout stage unseeded. Two goals from Timo Werner and a strike from Romelu Lukaku ensured Chelsea drew against the Russian club. Speaking during his post-match press conference, Tuchel: “We had a very good first 15 minutes and then we stopped doing the things we did in the first 15 minutes. “In my opinion, we had a feeling that ‘This is OK. We are in charge. We are the better team’. “But we were forgetting why we were the better team – (it was) because of the investment, the level of concentration. The level was high enoug...

Champions League: Guardiola reacts as Man City beat PSG 2-1

Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola, was impressed by his side’s consistency as they beat Paris Saint-Germain 2-1 on Wednesday night. The victory saw the Premier League champions secure their place in the Round of 16 as group winners. City, who reached last season’s final, have now progressed to the knockout stages for a ninth successive year. “We pressed really well (in Paris) and we adjusted a little bit to what they do. They are so dangerous, the quality they have is extraordinary. “But we did a really good game being ourselves — aggressive with the ball and defending well when we defended deep … The important thing is to be ourselves. “What gives you consistency is how you perform and the way we are performing is really good. People are enjoying watching us and we a...

Ziyech strike seals Chelsea win over plucky Malmo

Chelsea moved a step closer to booking their place in the Champions League knockout stages as Hakim Ziyech's 56th-minute strike was enough to secure a 1-0 victory over Malmo in southern Sweden. Ziyech impressed as he made a case for more regular starting opportunities, scoring his first goal since the European Super Cup win over Villarreal in August as he tucked home from close range after good work from Callum Hudson-Odoi. Malmo had lost their previous six Champions League games by an aggregate score of 28-0 so it was a very resolute display against the European champions, who still have work to do in order to qualify for the last 16. Johan Dahlin twice denied Kai Havertz from point-blank range either side of the interval but the result means another victory for Chelsea without...
