Sanwo-Olu’s Wife Receives One-Day Lagos Governor

Wife of Lagos State governor Ibijoke Sanwo-Olu on Friday received a one-day governor Gloria Ajala at the Lagos House in Marina. Ajala became a one-day Lagos governor by emerging winner of the 2018 Spelling Bee Competition. Mrs Sanwo-Olu received Ajala and her cabinet members on a courtesy visit to the Lagos House. Govt Bans Union Activities In Lagos Island Over NURTW Crisis

Following the crisis rocking the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Lagos Island Chapter, the State Government on Tuesday ordered the immediate suspension of all union activities on the Island indefinitely. The State’s Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal, who disclosed this shortly after the Security Council Meeting held at the Lagos House, Alausa, Ikeja and chaired by Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, said the decision was to forestall any further breakdown of law and order and ensure that the peace in the area is not hampered. LASG Donates N55m To Families Of Slain Security Officers

Lagos State Governor, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode on Monday presented cheques totaling N55 million to the families of security officers who lost their lives in the Ishawo area of Ikorodu after an ambush unleashed on them by militants. The families of four police officers that died during the operation got N10 million each, while an officer who sustained injury during the attack and still recuperating in the hospital, Sgt. LASG Needs $30bn For Big Projects

Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State says no less than $30bn will be needed to adequately deliver 30 big infrastructural projects over the next five years. The governor, who spoke on Monday shortly before inaugurating a 12-member Lagos State Economic Advisory Committee at the Lagos House, Ikeja, said the projected figure represented about $6bn per annum, whereas the provision for capital projects in the 2017 budget was pegged at N500bn (about $1.6bn).
