COVID-19 Hits Queen’s College Lagos As Students Test Positive

Lagos State Government has confirmed positive COVID-19 cases in a secondary boarding school on the mainland. A member of the school's staff was confirmed positive for COVID-19 on the 2' of November. Contact tracing has revealed that a student and four contacts of the staff member are positive for COVID-19. The staff member fell ill for a few days and received first aid at the school clinic. She subsequently tested positive for COVID-19 on Monday 2nd of November at the Lagos State Biobank. The Lagos State COVID-19 Incident Command System through the Emergency Operation Center is investigating the incident, and we would like to assure members of the public and stakeholders of the school that the situation is completely under control. Nigeria records third case of confirmed coronavirus

The third case of coronavirus has been confirmed in Lagos. The Lagos State Ministry of Health, which confirmed the case, said the patient is unconnected with the index case. The infected, a 30-year-old Nigerian female who returned from the United Kingdom on Friday, observed self-isolation, developed symptoms and tested positive. She is receiving care in Mainland General Hospital.

Lassa Fever: Lagos Places 22 More Persons Under Surveillance

The Lagos State Government swelled the number of persons placed under surveillance over the outbreak of Lassa fever in the state by 22 yesterday, stating though, that none of the 100 workers of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) under watch since Tuesday had tested positive for the deadly disease. The fresh 22 were persons from Ikorodu who had contact with the index case and are currently under close observation, the Director of Disease Control, Lagos State Ministry of Health, Dr. Eniola Eniosho, said. Three More LUTH Workers Test Positive For Lassa Fever

Three health workers, out of the 100 that had contact with a pregnant woman who died of Lassa fever at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, Idi-Araba, have tested positive for the infection. LUTH’s Chief Medical Director, Prof. Chris Bode, confirmed this at a joint briefing by the hospital’s management and officials of the Lagos State Ministry of Health on Wednesday. Bode said the health workers had been admitted to the Isolation Ward at the teaching hospital alongside a female resident doctor who contracted the infection while conducting an autopsy on one of the index cases.
