FG Releases ₦4.5 Billion To 31 Teaching Hospitals, 9 Billion For Life Insurance

Indications emerged Friday that the Federal Government has released the sum of N4.5 billion to 31 Federal Teaching Hospitals and Medical Centres across the country to cover hazard and inducement allowances for the month of April and May. The Minister of Labour and Employment, Chris Ngige, made this disclosure while briefing State House Correspondents, in company of the Minister of Health, Osagie Ehanire and the Minister of State for Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo, after they briefed President Muhammadu Buhari, on the strike by the National Association of Resident Doctors (NARD). Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has decorated that his administration has put in place life insurance policy for the State health workers, just has their hazard allowance has been reviewed from 200 to 300 per cent. The Governor who disclosed this when he met with representatives of health workers in the State at his Office in Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, said the life policy would have taken off immediately but would wait to go along with the federal government, which is also putting in place similar programme. “I want to inform you that we have put in place life policy for our health workers. Gov. Akeredolu Orders Life Insurance For Journalists In Governments Press Crew

Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu of Ondo State on Wednesday ordered that all the members of his office Press Crew be placed on life group Insurance Scheme in view of hazard attached with the discharge of their duties. The governor also stressed the need for members of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ) across the country to take group insurance scheme of the Union serious and ensure they subscribe to it.
