India hit record numbers of Covid-19 infections worldwide for the sixth day running on Tuesday as the country and its overstretched health systems started receiving vital medical supplies to deal with the pandemic. A total of 323,144 new cases and 2,771 deaths were registered, Health Ministry data showed, taking the national caseload to 17.6 million cases and the death tally to 197,894. Nigeria Gets Medical Supplies From Dubai Ruler, Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum

The Ruler of Dubai has ordered 14 tonnes of medical supplies and 20 tonnes of food supplies to Nigeria and Sudan, the Dubai Media Office said on Saturday. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum “orders humanitarian aid flight to Sudan and Nigeria carrying 14 tonnes of medical supplies, 20 tonnes of food supplies,” the press office said in a tweet. The Nigerian government is yet to confirm the reception of the supplies or the date it is expected in the country. COVID-19: FG Receives $22 Million Supplies From UN, EU

The Federal Government has received the much-needed medical supplies to effectively fight the COVID-19 pandemic. The supplies, which are valued at $22m, were donated by the United Nations (UN) through its COVID-19 Basket Fund and the European Union (EU). It contained 545 oxygen concentrators, over 100,000 test kits, infrared digital no-touch thermometers, numerous personal protective equipment (PPEs), laboratory supplies and emergency health kits. Ethiopia on Saturday admitted it was behind the shooting down of a privately owned Kenyan plane in Somalia earlier this week, resulting in the deaths of all six people on board. The plane was shot down on Monday by Ethiopian troops protecting a camp in the town of Bardale in southwestern Somalia, the Ethiopian army said in a statement to the African Union (AU). COVID-19: Jack Ma Sends 2nd Batch Of Medical Supplies To Nigeria, Others

Chinese billionaire, Jack Ma, has confirmed that his second donation to 54 African countries have been dispatched to help the continent with its fight against COVID-19. The medical supplies would soon arrive Ethiopia, the headquarters of African Union, for onward distribution to countries. Jack Ma disclosed the information via his Twitter page on Monday. According to him, the second consignment includes 500 ventilators, 200,000 suits and face shields, 200,000 thermometers, one million swabs and extraction kits and 500,000 gloves. A few weeks ago, the Jack Ma Foundation and Alibaba Foundation donated similar medical supplies to Africa. The federal government on Saturday night got the first batch of medical supplies in the fight against the spread of Coronavirus pandemic and for the treatment of COVID-19 patients. Air Peace aircraft, Boeing 777 with registration number, 5N-BWI landed at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja from Istanbul, Turkey on Saturday night. Chinese Billionaire businessman, Jack Ma has donated medical kits to Africa to battle Coronavirus. The medical consignment arrived Nigeria today March 24th. The shipment, which came in via an Ethiopian Airlines flight, carried 5.4 million face masks, 1.08 million detection tests, 40,000 sets of protective clothing and 60,000 sets of protective face shields. Firihiewot Mekonnen, the General Manager of Ethiopian Airlines in Nigeria, who received the consignment, said “We appreciate the donation of the Jack Ma Foundation and the generosity of Jack Ma.
