2023: OBJ, PDP leaders in closed door meeting

As the 2023 presidential election draws nearer, former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Thursday, August 19, had a closed door meeting with the National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Uche Secondus, and other leaders of the party in Abeokuta, Ogun State. The PDP chairman and the other leaders of the party arrived at the penthouse of the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) in Abeokuta at about few minutes past noon. The visit comes after some leaders of the party called for the removal of Secondus as chairman. Obasanjo who was a founding member of the PDP, denounced his membership of the party in February 2015.

FG Releases Guidelines for Schools Resumption

The Federal Government has issued guidelines ahead of the planned resumption of schools in the country. The guidelines, which failed to disclose the date of school resumption, was signed by the Minister of Education, Mallam Adamu Adamu and Minister of State (Education), Hon. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba. It was developed in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Environment, Federal Ministry of Health and health safety experts in the country The guidelines outlined actions, measures and requirements needed for the safe reopening of schools after the coronavirus pandemic. FIFA has suspended the Sierra Leone Football Association (SLFA) with immediate effect, due to government interference in soccer affairs, the sport’s world governing body said on Friday.
