Liverpool thrash shambolic Man Utd to pile pressure on Ole

Ten-man Manchester United suffered one of their worst defeats in recent memory as rivals Liverpool piled pressure on manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with a 5-0 thrashing at Old Trafford. United's performance was nothing short of a shambles as Liverpool feasted on some inept defending and questionable tactics, going ahead after five minutes through Naby Keita's low finish having been released through on goal. Diogo Jota made it 2-0 (13) at the far post from Trent Alexander-Arnold's centre after miscommunication between Harry Maguire and Luke Shaw, before Mohamed Salah scored for the 10th straight game in all competitions, converting near post from Keita's pass (38) Image:Salah celebrates with Virgil van Dijk, right, after scoring his Liverpool's third goal vs Manchester United ...

Her Majesty, 95, agreed to pay for the duke's legal defence last year shortly after his disastrous interview on BBC Newsnight, according to the Daily Telegraph. The duke last week expanded his American legal team to include Melissa Lerner alongside his lead counsel Andrew Brettler. Mr Brettler is thought to be charging the Duke around $2,000 (£1,476) an hour. The Queen will source f...

Serving Humanity: Encounter With British Woman Who Saved Lives In Nigeria

Precisely three weeks ago, I had a tap on my back shortly after a Church service in London. As I turned to behold at whose behest, I saw an elderly lady on a wheel chair. Her words were simple, straight and shocking – “Ibu onye Igbo?” (Are you Igbo?) I stared at her with my mouth agape, not sure if she was the one who asked. I felt I had some auditory hallucination but I managed to reluctantly nod in affirmation. She gave a toothy smile and probed further – “Ebe n’ala Igbo kaisi?” (which part of Igbo land are you from?) I told her in shock. She smiled again and said: “Mruru olu na state gi” for more than 35 years” (loosely translated, “I worked in your State for more than 35 years) As she wanted to tell about herself and her works, my mind quickly went down the memory lane. We’re All Human: ‘Nudge’ Theorist Thaler Wins Economics Nobel

STOCKHOLM (Reuters) – U.S. academic Richard Thaler, who helped popularize the idea of "nudging" people toward doing what was best for them, won the 2017 Nobel Economics Prize on Monday for his work on how human nature affects supposedly rational markets. Influential in the field of behavioral economics, his research showed how traits such as lack of self-control and fear of losing what you already have prompt decisions that may not have the best outcome in the longer term. "I think the most important impact (of my research) is the recognition that economic agents are human and economic models have to incorporate that," Thaler, a professor at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, said in call broadcast at the Nobel news conference.
