FOLLOWING last week’s fire incident that razed Sokoto Central Market, the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) has donated N50 million to the Sokoto State government and victims of the fire incident with a resolve to lobby the Federal Government to fulfil its pledge of assisting in the rebuilding of the market. Ekiti state governor, Kayode Fayemi, has been elected the new Chairman of the Nigeria Governors Forum NGF. Fayemi takes over from Zamfara state governor, Abdulaziz Yari. Sokoto state governor, Aminu Tambuwal will serve as the deputy chairman. The forum was established in 1999 to coordinate the activities of governors in matters of national interest.
