Tension in Kwara as angry youths move to evict Fulani residents

There was panic in Odo Owa and Erinmope towns in Kwara State as some Youths stormed various Fulani settlements and issued a 24-hour eviction notice to them. Muhammad Saliu, a resident of Erimope, told Daily Trust that some Fulani youths were attacked on Tuesday evening. “It took the glory of God before they were released. This is coming a month after youths entered into villages occupied by Fulani and burnt their houses, while carting away all their belongings” he said. Suspected Herdsmen Kill OPC Member, Kidnap Farmer In Ondo

A member of the Oodua Peoples Congress in Ondo State, identified as Adejuyigbe Daniel, has been reportedly killed by some suspected Fulani herdsmen in the Iju community in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State. The deceased was said to be one of the youths of the town who were searching for a missing farmer, Mr. Solomon Akinmeji, before he was attacked and killed by the bandits in the forest on Sunday. Akinmeji was reportedly abducted by the herdsmen in his farm on Saturday, at Okeji farm settlement in the town. A member of Oodua People’s Congress (OPC), Sola Oguntade was reportedly attacked by suspected Fulani herdsmen in Araromi area of Oba-Ile in Akure North area of Ondo State. An unidentified 11-year-old boy alongside Wasiu, who was trying to rescue him, was swept away by a flood in the Aboru, Alimosho local government in Lagos on Saturday.
