Two Policemen Injured in Yet Another Attack on a Police Station in Imo

Two police officers are currently nursing their injuries they sustained after gunmen attacked the Mbieri divisional police headquarters on Wednesday night, April 7. Confirming the attack, the spokesperson of the state police command, Orlando Ikeokwu, said the gunmen stormed the police headquarters at about 10pm but the attack was successfully repelled by the police. He added that the two officers who sustained injuries during the attack are currently receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital. Police stations in Imo state have been under attack in recent times. On Monday, April 5, the state police headquarters was attacked by unidentified gunmen. Hoodlums Attack Police Station in Imo

Unidentified hoodlums on Thursday, February 25, attacked the Divisional police headquarters in Aboh Mbaise in Imo state. A statement released by the spokesperson of the command, Orlando Ikeokwu, says the hoodlums drove in four cars, shooting sporadically into the air as they arrived the station. ''The officers on duty engaged them in a gun duel , at the end of the melee, one Police woman sustained gun shot injury and has been taken to the hospital for treatment. Regrettably, the station that was just renovated after being razed down by hoodlums during the EndSars saga, was again set ablaze.''the statement read Ikeokwu added that the Commissioner of Police, Imo State, CP Nasiru Mohammed, has activated all tactical teams with a view to fish out and arrest the fleeing hoodlums.

  A 23-year-old man, Uchenna Mbahotu, has been arrested by the Imo State Police for allegedly defiling two underage sisters. The suspect was living in the same compound with the 11 and 9-year-old sisters he allegedly abused, the Imo State Police spokesperson, Orlando Ikeokwu, said. According to reports, he was trusted by the girls' parents, so, he abused that trust by allegedly abusing the girls sexually. Fleeing Policemen Crush Man to Death in Imo State

A 27-year-old man identified as Chinedu Nwedu was crushed to death on Sunday May 10, by a vehicle conveying two policemen in Eziorsu community in Oguta council of Imo State. The incident occurred while the policemen who were led by one Sergeant Ikiira Sunday from Mopol 29 in Awka, Anambra State were hurriedly getting away from the scene of a breached pipeline. Angry youths of Amorie village in Orlu West Local Government Area of Imo State have reportedly burnt down the home of  Nwazugbo Nsofor, the man who killed his relative, Ife Odenigbo, during a fight in Sourh Africa a few days ago. A video of the two engaging in a fistcuff surfaced online on Tuesday February 11th. The video showed the moment Nwazugbo picked up a brick to hit Ife's head and he immediately slumped. FUTO student drowns in a swimming poo

Less than two months after three students of the Federal University of Technology Owerri (FUTO) were found dead after taking tramadol and other harmful drugs, another student of the University has drowned in a hotel swimming pool. The victim, a Microbiology graduate identified as Stephen Igwilo, died in a hotel in one of the host communities.
