Hoodlums Plundered WHO’s Office In Nigeria, PPEs Stolen – Matshidiso Moeti

The World Health Organisation (WHO) said on Thursday, October 29, that hoodlums looted one of its offices in Nigeria and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) were stolen from the stores. The African Regional Director, WHO, Dr Matshidiso Moeti, made this known while responding to questions on the impact of the hijacked endsars protest, riots and looting on its facilities and on the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in Nigeria, during a webinar on Thursday October 29. FG Releases ₦4.5 Billion To 31 Teaching Hospitals, 9 Billion For Life Insurance

Indications emerged Friday that the Federal Government has released the sum of N4.5 billion to 31 Federal Teaching Hospitals and Medical Centres across the country to cover hazard and inducement allowances for the month of April and May. Russia Extends Lock Down Over Shortage Of PPE

The Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced that the country medical sector are short of personal protective equipment (PPE) to combat the corona virus in the country despite the announcement of increase in production and imports. The president had urged that the peak of the pandemic rate ad not been recorded in the country, stating that all citizens must be watchful. Russia remain in lockdown in a bid to curb the pandemic until 11th May. “Compared to before, [we’re producing] a lot. But compared what we need, it’s still not enough,” Putin said.

The Nigeria Air Force (NAF) has commenced mass production of face masks and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to fight the coronavirus in the country. The Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, said this on Friday while inaugurating a tailoring workshop and the newly reactivated Mi-35P attack helicopter at the 115 Special Operations Group in Port Harcourt.
