Army chief, Attahiru: AIB submits interim report on plane crash to Air Force

The Accident Investigation Bureau (AIB) has submitted an interim report on the plane crash that killed ex-Nigerian Army chief, Lt-Gen Ibrahim Attahiru and other officers. AIB Commissioner, Engr. Akin Olateru presented the document to the Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Amao at the NAF Headquarters, Abuja. A NAF King Air 350 aircraft crashed at the Kaduna airport on May 21, 2021. A statement on Wednesday by NAF Director of Information, Edward Gabkwet and AIB image-maker, Tunji Oketunbi gave a brief insight into the report. Multiple people dead as plane crashes close to airport shortly after takeoff in Sweden

Multiple people have died after a plane carrying nine people crashed close to the airport shortly after takeoff. The skydiver aircraft plummeted to the ground 200m from a runway at Orebro Airport in Sweden around 7.25pm on Thursday, July 8. The plane caught fire after crashing. Lars Hedelin, spokesman for Bergslagen Police, confirmed that several people died. It is believed that eight parachutists and a pilot were on board. Rescue chief Per-Ove Staberyd told TV4 that two people were taken to hospital. Pictures show police cars and ambulances at the scene. Firefighters were also there to extinguish the fire.

Russian Plane Crash Kills 32 People In Syria

A Russian transport plane crashed on landing at Russia’s Hmeimim airbase in Syria, killing all 32 people on board, the defence ministry said in a statement reported by RIA Novosti. There were 26 passengers and 6 crew member, the ministry said. “The reason for the crash according to preliminary information could have been a technical fault,” the ministry said, adding that the plane had not come under fire according to a report from the ground. The transporter was around 500 metres from the runway before the crash and now a commisssion will investigate the causes of the crash.
