The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) detectives have arrested three suspects in connection with the brutal murder of 22-year-old student of Egerton University in Njoro, Kenya. Lagos State Government Suspends the Reopening of Churches and Mosques

Lagos state governor, Babatunde Sanwo-Olu, has suspended the planned reopening of religious centers in the state. Recall that on June 4, the state governor announced that religious centers will be allowed to open for worship provided they follow the COVID-19 guidelines. South Korea says its jets fired warning shots at a Russian surveillance plane that entered its airspace on Tuesday.   Officials said the plane twice violated the airspace over the Dokdo/Takeshima islands, which are occupied by Seoul but also claimed by Japan. South Korea's Ministry of Defence said it scrambled fighter jets in response and fired 360 machine-gun rounds.   Russia has denied violating the country's airspace and Moscow said two of its bombers carried out a planned drill over "neutral waters" and denied any warning shots that were fired by South Korean jets.   This is the first incident of its kind between Russia and South Korea.

Court Stops Chief Justice Of Nigeria’s Planned Arraignment

A Federal High Court which sat today in Abuja, has reportedly stopped the Chief Justice of Nigeria’s planned arraignment by the Code of Conduct Tribunal. Justice Evelyn Maha of the Federal High Court, Abuja, who ruled on two ex-parte applications on Monday, ordered parties to maintain the status quo and also not to take any further steps in respect of the trial until January 17 when all parties to both suits are to return. While the ex parte application in the suit FHC/ABJ/CS/27/2019 was moved by Mr. R.A Lawal-Rabana (SAN), before Justice Maha on Monday, the ex parte application filed in the suit marked FHC/ABJ/CS/28/2019 ‎was moved by Mr. Jeph Njikonye. There may be shortage of fuel next week as the Nigeria Union of Petroleum and Natural Gas Workers has pledged its loyalty to the Nigeria Labour Congress and any step that the NLC decides to take. Air Peace Flays Ojikutu Over Comments On Acquisition of B777 Aircraft

Mother And Daughter Who Faked Their Kidnap To Defraud Husband Arrested

The Lagos State Police command has arrested Hadijat Kabir for faking her kidnap with her 18-year-old daughter to defraud her husband of N15 million. Her husband, Kabir Muraino, had reported the case at Ikotun Police Station on August 2, 2018, before the suspect was arrested. He reported that his wife and daughter, Hamidat Kemi, who is of unsound mind, were kidnapped on the same date on their way to Psychiatric Hospital, Oshodi, Lagos. He added the kidnappers were demanding for the sum of N15million. Based on this, the Anti-Kidnapping Squad swung into action and arrested some of the suspects in Ado-Odo, Ogun State. When one of the hostages, Hadijat, was being debriefed, she confessed that she planned her kidnap with the suspects arrested, to defraud her husband.
