The police in Imo state have repelled bandit attacks in Njaba town in the state. Gunmen storm Abuja hotel, abduct guest

Unknown gunmen broke into the Hilltop Hotel at Tunga Maje in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Wednesday night June 23 and abducted the owner of the hotel, Prince Adejo and other guests in the hotel.   DailyTrust reports that Adejo and six other people were said to be holding a meeting inside his hotel when the gunmen struck.   Eyewitnesses say the gunmen, numbering 10, broke into the hotel located at Unguwar Jikupa on the edge of the town, around 10:30pm, shooting twice in the air to scare people before taking the victims who appeared to be the target of the attackers.  Hon.   A suspected car bomb was discovered near the Stadio Olimpico stadium, ahead of the Euro 2020 clash between Italy and Switzerland. According to the UK Mirror, a fan spotted a suspicious item inside a parked Smart car while heading to the stadium. The fan alerted police at around 12 pm BST. The car was in the Piazza Mancini area of Rome, the Italian capital, which is close to where Wednesday night’s game is taking place. The police in Abuja this morning allegedly fired teargas canisters to disperse June 12 protesters in the Gudu area of the Federal Capital Territory.   The protesters had gathered at the area at about 8.30am this morning to protest against what they described as bad governance by the Buhari-led government.   Punch reports that the protesters, who chanted “Buhari must go”, “Say no to injustice”, amongst other solidarity phrases, took to their heels and scampered for safety when the security operatives stormed the area and fired the teargas canisters.

Seven arrested after a teenage boy is stabbed to death

British authorities have arrested seven people after a teenager was stabbed to death in Streatham less than two hours after another brutal knifing in nearby Clapham. Four men and three women were arrested on suspicion of various offences by the Metropolitan Police  yesterday.
