Buhari’s visit to Imo not for 2023 elections – Uzodinma

Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has said President Muhammadu Buhari’s visit to the state has nothing to do with the 2023 elections. Uzodinma said Buhari was simply on a working visit. The governor, who stated this while appearing on Channels Television, said Buhari commissioned projects while in the state. “Our people came out to receive the president who visited Imo State in solidarity with the governor of Imo State. Former Deputy Senate President, Ibrahim Mantu, Dies at 74

A former Plateau Central Senator and deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ibrahim Nasiru Mantu, is dead. He was 74 years old. Late Mantu died in the early hours of Tuesday, August 17 at a private hospital in Abuja after nine days of sickness and isolation. In 2001 he was elected Deputy Senate President under the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), a position he held till 2007. Mantu, who hails from Gindiri District in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State, worked in various establishments before joining politics He will be buried by 2pm today.
