COVID 19 Lockdown: Abiodun distributes relief materials to people in Ogun Central

Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, Friday, went around major areas in Ogun Central Senatorial District to distribute relief materials to some residents. He was in Abeokuta South and parts of Abeokuta North Local Government Area to give food items to the aged and vulnerable persons in what he said, was to “cushion the effects of lockdown”, with the assurance that government was intensifying efforts to contain the pandemic. Lockdown: Ogun Unveils Stimulus Package Items, To Begin Distribution Saturday

The Ogun State Government has revealed the content of the stimulus packages it will begin distributing to the people tomorrow, Saturday. The packages, according to the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, contain staple food and essential hygiene items. Citizens and residents are to expect the hand sanitizers produced by the State Ministry of Health, anti-bacterial soapbars, detergents and bottles of water, alongside the food items. The Governor emphasised that the distribution exercise would be monitored to ensure equitable access for the people. The purpose of the initiative, the Governor emphasised, is to make sure that the people remain well during the lockdown.

To curb unemployment and boost food production in Ogun State, 200 unemployed graduates have been offered loans totalling N74.4m under the Fadama III agricultural programme of the Federal Government. According to a statement, the youths were presented with the cheques on Thursday by the state governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, after their training. The governor said the beneficiaries would be incorporated into the Anchor Borrowers’ Scheme, whereby they would be given free land with certificates of occupancy issued in their names.
