Adamawa: Fintiri signs N163.6bn 2022 ‘Budget of Sustainable Hope’ into law

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has assented to the 2022 state budget passed by the House of Assembly. The ‘Budget of Sustainable Hope’ was signed on Friday at the Government House, Yola The budget, a total sum of N163,629,910:40, is the result of legislation by the state House of Assembly on an Appropriation Bill earlier presented to the Assembly by the members of the state House of Assembly by Governor Fintiri. The budget has N98.8 billion, representing 60 per cent as recurrent expenditure while N64.7 billion, representing four percent, is allocated to capital expenditure. The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has uncovered a laboratory for the production of hashish oil in Lagos state. Hashish is a drug made from the resin of the cannabis plant and it is consumed by inhaling from a small piece, typically in a pipe, bong, vaporizer or joint, or via oral ingestion, and according to the Principal Staff Officer, Public Affairs of the NDLEA, Jonah Achema, the laboratory was the first ever. NDLEA also recovered a gun and 13 rounds of live ammunition. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), has begun the production and distribution of customised face masks for its personnel across the country. The Corps Public Education Officer (CPEO), Mr Bisi Kazeem disclosed this in a statement to newsmen on Monday in Abuja. Kazeem said the development was in response to the recommendation by the Presidential Task Force on COVID-19 for Ministries Departments and Agencies (MDAs) to procure and distribute locally made face masks to their staff as part of efforts to curtail the spread of the virus. The National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) says the Federal Government is working on releasing N30 billion to boost the process of Digital Switch Over (DSO) in the country.
