Sane deal financially ‘very difficult’, accepts Bayern president

The German winger has long been a target for the Bavarian club, but their president admitted a deal may be difficult to get over the line A deal to bring Leroy Sane to Bayern Munich from Manchester City is looking increasingly difficult from a financial perspective, according to the Bundesliga champions' president Uli Hoeness. Bayern are embarking on a rebuild over the coming months as they look set to move on several ageing players, with Rafinha, Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery already departed. As such, Bayern are being heavily linked with a number of younger wingers and Sane has emerged as a primary target, with the club doing little to hide their desire to sign him.

Rafinha made 266 appearances for Bayern and helped them to six consecutive Bundesliga titles, but along with Ribery and Arjen Robben will depart the club this summer. As the Brazilian full back made his closing remarks on Wednesday, Ribery was seen crying and covering his eyes with his hand as his emotions got the better of him. Messi Ready To Partner Suarez In Attack

Little can be said of a Messi-dependency while some players have come to the fore such as Jordi Alba who has given a lot to the attack with his raids down the wing. The midfield trio have done well and Rafinha also has come in and done well. However, the player that really was able to take on the responsibility of leading the attack has been Luis Suarez. “I think we all play better with Messi including Suarez,” said Valverde. Having been able to get up to speed in recent training sessions, Lionel Messi will be ready to reappear in Barcelona’s next match against Inter today. In the three games without Messi, Barcelona not only have won all their games (Sevilla, Inter, Real Madrid and Rayo) but they have also been able to answer footballing debates.

Neymar Returns To Barcelona, Meets Ex Team Mates

Neymar was given a hero’s welcome as the now-Paris Saint-Germain star headed back to Barcelona to see his old team-mates. The Brazilian star, 26, took some time away from his PSG duties as he met up with Luis Suarez, Rafinha, Ivan Rakitic and Marc-Andre ter Stegen. Neymar left the Nou Camp last summer in a world-record £198million deal, but is clearly still loved by his former team-mates. The PSG superstar posted a series of images on social media as he got reacquainted up with the Barcelona superstars. Captioning a picture of himself and Rakitic, Neymar said: “I’m glad to see you, mate.” To Barca stopper Ter-Stegen, he wrote: “Did you miss me, haha.” And to his former partner in crime up front, Suarez, Neymar said: “Missed you brother.”

Barcelona Set To Offer Chelsea Andre Gomez, Rafinha, Or Mina For Willian

Barcelona is prepared to offer a player to Chelsea in exchange for Willian, as they attempt to complete a deal for the Brazil ace. The Camp Nou club want to bring Willian to Catalonia this summer, but they are put off by the £70million (€80m) price tag put on the winger by Chelsea. Submitting such an offer is beyond Barca’s capabilities right now, and they have started to assess how they could do a deal for Willian without spending so much. And, according to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona have reached the decision to offer one of their players in a part-exchange deal for Willian, in an attempt to lower the actual cash they will have to spend on the 29-year-old. It is stated that three players are in the running to be offered to the Blues, with midfielders Andre Gomes, Rafin...

Which Shirt Number Should Coutinho Wear At Barcelona?

With a hip injury keeping him out until early February, there is no rush for the club to adorn the Brazilian with a particular number and outgoings could be key. With No. 24 the lowest spot available as things stand, it cannot be ruled out that Barcelona want Coutinho to take either Arda Turan's, Rafinha's, Mascherano's or Aleix Vidal's number.

Three Months Minimum For Injury-Stricken Barcelona Winger Dembele

On Tuesday, the winger underwent surgery in Finland to fix the tear as well as the muscle discomfort that he was feeling before entering the field against Getafe last Saturday. Following the operation, Dembele vowed on social media to return to playing action within two months but club doctors have a minimum three month lay-off scheduled for the Frenchman. Naturally, the human body can accelerate the recovery process as it did with Luis Suarez's speedy return from a knee injury sustained in the Supercopa de Espana in August, but it can also labour as Rafinha has discovered with latest his knee problem. For Dembele, it may perhaps be inexperience and youthful exuberance driving his optimism, and either way the final call on his return will come from the Barcelona medical department.

Rafinha Commits Amidst Summer Interest From England And Spain

According to ESPN, the Brazilian, who has won five Bundesliga titles with Bayern, was the subject of many offers with a possible deadline-day swoop by Chelsea one of them, but a deal failed to materialise. The 32-year-old signed a contract extension with the Bundesliga champions in December 2016 which was due to keep Rafinha in Bavaria until next summer, and while he is committed to Carlo Ancelotti's team, the defender desires consistent playing time. 'Bayern's bosses know I already had offers from England and Spain before the season started,' he said. 'I have Bayern in my heart and I always give 100 per cent. They can always count on me. 'Therefore, I think those responsible understand that I really want to play, otherwise I will have to think about my future.' Rafinha, formerly of Sc...

Bartomeu: Neymar Leaving Presents Barcelona With An Opportunity

Do you feel deceived by Neymar? It distracted us too much. I would have preferred them to tell us before "we're going". We would have looked for a replacement in a normal market. The way of doing it wasn't right. They behaved poorly? Historically, Barça look for exits for players that want to leave (Cesc, Pedro, Alexis...) We don't stop players leaving. The same with Neymar, but we would have preferred to have Dembele at a better price. But you'd have preferred Neymar to stay?Better to have the talent at the club. But you can't be too pessimistic. It's an opportunity for Barcelona to break the trident and to bet on collective play. We're coming off Luis Enrique's project and now there's Valverde. There's total confidence in him. He's a manager that believes in the Barça model and in players ...

Barcelona, Real Madrid Set To Do Battle Over Wantaway Kylian Mbappe

Neymar's impending move to Paris Saint-Germain has shocked European football, and the madness of the transfer market is likely to intensify in the next few weeks as French publication L'Equipe reports Monaco sensation Kylian Mbappe is ready to push for an exit. Barcelona, who appear vulnerable after losing a third of the "MSN", will be desperate to acquire another superstar to appease their disgruntled fans and lead the race, according to the report. As straight replacements go, the Blaugrana could strike it lucky, though the 18-year-old may have his heart set on Real Madrid, given neither club is likely to offer him a starting role as a centre-forward with Luis Suarez and Karim Benzema so well established. A meeting has already taken place between the France international's entou...

Poor Start Against Bayern Munich Cost Chelsea – Kante

N’Golo Kante believes Chelsea paid the price for a slow start in their 3-2 loss to Bayern Munich in the International Champions Cup. Rafinha’s opener and Thomas Muller’s double put the German champions 3-0 up within the opening half an hour at the National Stadium in Singapore on Tuesday but the Blues did eventually manage to pull two goals back. And Kante, a two-time Premier League winner, felt that his side’s reaction to the early setback was commendable. “It was a good game. We played against a good team. We tried to give our best but they played very well. They scored early in the game,” he told Goal. “So it was a little bit difficult after 3-0 but we reacted very well and finished with 3-2. “It was a good game. You have to keep working and keep improving the results.” T...
