Five officers killed as hoodlums attack another police station in Imo

Five police officers have been confirmed dead after hoodlums attacked the Okigwe South Area command on Monday April 26. Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the state police command, SP Orlando Ikeokwu, said one of the officers is yet to be accounted for. He added that the command's building wasn't razed. The attack comes days weeks after hoodlums stormed the state headquarters as well as the state's correctional center and released several inmates.

Gunmen raze another police station in Imo, free suspects

Unidentified gunmen have razed another police station in Imo State, few hours after Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and outgoing Inspector General of Police (IGP), Muhammed Adamu left Owerri, the Imo State capital. Vice President Osinbajo led a delegation of Federal Government officials including the Minister of Interior Rauf Aregbesola, to visit the state over Monday, April 5, attack on the correctional center in the state as well as the police headquarters. Shortly after Osinbajo and his entourage left the state, the gunmen burnt Ehime Mbano Local Government Area Divisional Police Headquarters. The gunmen freed all suspects in detention before setting the Police Divisional headquarters ablaze. The state police command is yet to comment on this development.

Sunday Igboho’s house razed in Ibadan

  One of the houses of Yoruba rights activist, Chief Sunday Adeyemo a.k.a Sunday Igboho in Soka, Ibadan was razed by suspected arsonists. The fire, which reportedly started around 3 am on Tuesday, destroyed some parts of the house. However, firefighters from the Oyo State Fire Service arrived on the scene a few hours after to douse the fire. No statement has been obtained from Igboho on the incident. The incident happened few days after Igboho asked herdsmen in the Ibarapa Local Government Area of Oyo State to leave within seven days.

Okada Riders Burn FRSC Office in Minna

A group of commercial motorcycle, Okada riders, in Minna, Niger state on Friday razed down the Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC office over the alleged death of one their members. According to a report by The Punch, the death of the rider was alleged to have been caused by the FRSC officials. It was learnt that the late motorcyclist rode against traffic along the GRA in the state and in a bid to arrest him, the FRSC officials on patrol opened their vehicle door to block his motorcycle.
