Barcelona manager, Ronald Koeman, has insisted they can still win the LaLiga title this season, despite a 2-1 defeat to Real Madrid on Saturday. Karim Benzema and Toni Kroos gave Los Blancos the lead, before Mingueza pulled one back for Koeman’s men. Barca were denied a late penalty, as Real clinched the maximum points in the title race. Real Madrid vs Barcelona: Koeman Blames Referees for 2-1 Defeat in El Clasico

Barcelona manager, Ronald Koeman, has criticized the referees for not awarding his side a late penalty, as they lost 2-1 to Real Madrid on Saturday. Ferland Mendy appeared to pull Martin Braithwaite down in the last 10 minutes. But referee Gil Manzano waved play on and VAR did not intervene in the decision. “Everyone has seen the game and if you’re a Barca fan, you’re angry; you’re not happy with some of the referee’s decisions,” Koeman told Movistar after the final whistle. “First of all, I just want to say that in the first half, we weren’t good, attacking or defending. In the second half, we improved. “I only ask that referees get decisions right. It’s a penalty and then, after that, to only add four minutes of stoppage time when the referee had spent three ...

Real Madrid 2-1 Barcelona: Zinedine Zidane’s men go top of the table

Real Madrid are now top of the La Liga table after doing the double over Barcelona for the first time since 2007-08 by winning 2-1 on Saturday night, April 10. It was a very entertaining game as Madrid’s counter-attacking tactics worked well, particularly in the first half as Karim Benzema put Madrid 1-0 ahead. 33-year-old Benzema was first to meet Lucas Vazquez's low cross towards the near post, squeezing a backheeled flick past Marc-Andre ter Stegen for his 25th goal in 35 appearances this season. Barcelona fell further behind when Kroos' free-kick took a deflection off Sergino Dest on its way past Ter Stegen. Federico Valverde could have made it 3-0 before half-time, but his shot across goal came back off the inside of the far post. In the second half Coach Ro...

According to him, he made the decision based on performance. Two second-half goals from Mohamed Salah and Trent Alexander-Arnold gave Liverpool all three points against Aston Villa. Asked if the game against Real Madrid played a part in his team selection, Klopp said at his post-match press conference: “No, not it’s pure coincidence that you brought up at that moment. “Well, not you personally, but the media brought up Sadio didn’t score f...
