NCC invites Nigerians for IoTs Code Camp 2021

The Nigerian Communication Commission, NCC, has invited technological hubs, Innovation Driven Enterprises (IDE) in Nigeria for an Internet of Things, loT Code camp and Hackathon. NCC said the entries would be in two categories, which are finding a solution to the challenges of kidnapping and banditry in Nigeria, and assistive robotics solutions for effective e-waste management. Bandits Kill Two Miyetti Allah Leaders in Nasarawa

Gunmen suspected to be bandits have killed the chairman of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association in Nasarawa State, Mohammed Hussain, at Garaku Market Area of Kokona Local Government area of the state. The bandits also murdered one Mohammed Umar, the chairman, Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association in the Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State. Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the state police command, Ramhan Nansel, said the assailants killed both men at about 7pm on Friday, April 2. An American woman who was held in a hotel for 15 months against her wish by a Nigerian man she met on social media has been rescued by the police. Nigerian police spokesperson, Frank Mba said the retired civil servant arrived Nigeria on 13th February, 2019. The lady who is from Washington DC, was visiting 34-year-old Chukwuebuka Kasi Obiaku (pictured above), a native of Ikeduru local government area of Imo State who she met on Facebook. EFCC Returns $4,040 to Brazilian Victim of Internet Fraud

  Debora Moreira, a Brazilian victim of internet fraud, has acknowledged the receipt of the sum of $4,040 which was recovered on her behalf by the Port Harcourt Zonal Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,  EFCC. Moreira lost the money to  Emmanuel Tope, a convicted fraudster,  in a romance scam. EFCC commenced investigation of the scam in March 2019 and successfully recovered the money,  prosecuted, and got the fraudster convicted. EFCC in a statement released said the proceeds of crime were remitted into the victim’s account with Bank Itau S/A, Rua Americo Brasiliense, through the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Paul Gabriel Amos was charged in court on Wednesday, Oct 25, 2017, over the receipt of stolen property and money laundering. These cases involved more than $1 million. The 46-year-old Singapore permanent is accused of committing these offences in October and November 2008.
