Kidnapped Ambrose Ali University Professor regains freedom

The senior lecturer at the Ambrose Alli University, Ekpoma, Edo State, Professor Osadolor Odia, who was kidnapped by gunmen has regained his freedom. MCI reported that the Professor of Engineering and former Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, was kidnapped on his way to the farm at Eboro area of Ekpoma, Esan West Local Government Area of the state last Thursday. The kidnappers later contacted the family and demanded a ransom of N18 million before he would be released. The wife of the Professor, Dr Amraibure, confirmed to journalists that her husband was released by his kidnappers on Saturday May 1 and that he had since reunited with his family. Abducted Mission School student regain freedom

The student of Kings School otherwise known as Capro Secondary Mission School located at Gana Ropp in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State who was kidnapped by unknown gunmen on April 29, has regained freedom. LIB reported earlier that 4 students were kidnapped during the attack but while three of the students escaped,  one remained in captivity. Spokesman of Operation Safe Haven, Major Ibrahim Shittu said on Sunday May 2 that troops rescued the remaining student in captivity on Saturday May 1. Shittu who said no ransom was paid to secure the student’s release, added that the rescued student is in good health condition and has since been reunited with other students in the college.

Abducted Benue University Students Released

The three students of Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi (FUAM) in Benue state, who were abducted from the school premises have regained their freedom. Their release was confirmed by Benue police public relations officer,  Catherine Anene on Wednesday April 28. Anene said the students were freed on Tuesday April 27 with no ransom paid. Rosemary Waku, director of information, protocol and public relations of FUAM also confirmed the release of the students.

Kidnapped Hotelier, Wife, Children, Others Regain Freedom in Oyo

The owner of Agbo Hotel in Ogbomoso in Oyo State, Oyedokun Oyeniyi; his wife, Busayo Oyedokun, and seven others including their children that were kidnapped by unknown gunmen, have regained their freedom. LIB had earlier reported that the gunmen stormed the hotel on Saturday night, April 24 and abducted the victims. Confirming their release, the spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Adewale Osifeso, said “Yes, they have been released,” he said. Osifeso did not, however, disclose whether ransom was paid before the release of the victim.

“Sleeping on My Bed at Long Last, Straight from jail” – Akuapem Poloo releases Video after she Regained Freedom

Rosemond Brown,  aka Akuapem Poloo, has finally regained freedom and she released a video on Instagram. The Ghanaian actress was sentenced to 90 days in jail for posing nude with her 7-year-old son. However, on Wednesday, April 21, an Accra High Court granted her bail at GH¢80,000 with two sureties, pending an appeal by her lawyer Andy Vortia. She has now returned home and she thanked everyone for their support. Watch the video below.

Kidnapped Ekiti Monarch Regains Freedom after 5 Days

Kidnapped Traditional Ruler of Ilemeso in Ekiti State, David Oyewunmi has regained freedom after spending five days in captivity. LIB reported earlier that Oyewunmi was kidnapped on April 16 at his palace after gunmen scaled the fence of the palace. Ekiti police spokesperson, Sunday Abutu who confirmed that the monarch has been released added that he is currently receiving medical attention at a health facility within the state following the trauma he experienced at the hands of the kidnappers. Channels Television reported that Abutu linked the release of the monarch to a combined effort of the police and local security outfits in the state.

Update: Three Women Abducted on Ibadan/Ijebu Ode Road Regain Freedom

The three women who were kidnapped on Ibadan-Ijebu Ode Road, Oluyole Local Government Area of Oyo State, have regained their freedom. LIB reported that the women, Mrs Okeowo, Mrs Abosede Adebayo and Mrs Bola Ogunrinde., were abducted by gunmen around Onipe community on Monday, April 12. It was gathered that the victims were rescued by the police at Ogunmakin community at about 9 am on Friday, April 16. Pastor Adeboye Visits Governor El-Rufai days after eight of his Church Members Regained their Freedom from Kidnappers

The general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, today April 13, met with Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-Rufai,  days after eight of his church members regained their freedom. The eight church members were abducted on March 27 and were released on April 8. Wife of NIMET Officials Who Was Abducted in Plateau state Regains Freedom

Victoria Rabo, the wife of a staff member of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET) who was abducted from her home at the staff quarters of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) in Heipang area of Plateau state on Thursday night, March 24, has regained her freedom. Commissioner of Police in Plateau State, Edward Egbuka confirmed her release on Friday March 26. Four Reportedly Killed, 11 Kidnapped as Bandits Return to Kagara Community

At least four persons have reportedly been killed in fresh attacks in Kagara community in Niger State. This attack comes after the 27 students and three teachers of the Government Science College in Kagara abducted by suspected bandits last Wednesday, February 17, regained their freedom in the early hours of today, February 27. According to DailyTrust, the bandits attacked Gidan Adamu, near Yakila, headquarters of Gunna district and Gidan Wamban Karaku community where 11 persons which include seven women were abducted. NTA Portharcourt Reporter Regains Freedom after 5 Days in Kidnappers Den

  Five days after her kidnap by unknown gunmen, a reporter with the Nigerian Television Authority, Chidiebele Julian Onyia has regained freedom. Julian, a nursing mother of a six-month-old baby with the NTA Port Harcourt was abducted at gunpoint on her way home from work around Railway within Woji area in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area of Rivers State. Retired Immigration Officer and Three Others Abducted in Abuja

A retired Assistant Comptroller-General of Immigration, Abdulahi Rakieu, and three other persons have been abducted in the Tungan Maje area of Gwagwalada Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory Abuja on Saturday, February 6. The kidnappers were said to have raided the victims’ houses and whisked them away. This comes few days after a Punch reporter and two others were kidnapped in the Kubwa area of the FCT.
