Kidnapped Kaduna First Class Traditional Ruler Regains Freedom

Gyet Maude, the kidnapped traditional ruler of Jaba Chiefdom in Kaduna State has regained his freedom. LIB had reported that the 83-year-monarch Jaba Chiefdom was kidnapped on Monday July 26, on his farm at Gitata community in Nasarawa State. He was released by his abductors on Wednesday evening, July 28, after spending two days with his abductors who had demanded for N100m ransom. A source within the traditional council, Anthony Maude, told Channels Television that the monarch returned to his palace along with some of his aides. It is however not clear if any ransom was paid or if the royal father was rescued by security operatives.

Kidnapped Delta University Students Regain Freedom

The Delta State University (DELSU), students who were kidnapped along the Oria-Abraka Road on Sunday night have regained freedom. The two victims identified as Divine Omajuwa and Husseina Hamza of Geology and Pharmacology Departments respectively were reportedly abducted while on their way to school. They were released on Tuesday at midnight. One of their friends, Stephen Odje, who was in their company, was shot dead during the attack. The acting Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) DSP Bright Edafe confirmed their release, DSP Edafe added that no arrest has been made as investigation into the incident is still ongoing.

Two kidnapped Kaduna nurses regain freedom after 80 days in bandits’ den

Two nurses who were kidnapped while on night duty at Doka General Hospital in Kajuru area of Kaduna State, have regained freedom after 80 days in bandits’ den. The two nurses identified as Afiniki Bako and Grace Nkut, were kidnapped in April. The National Association of Nigeria Nurses and Midwives ( NANNM), Kaduna State Chapter, Chairman Comrade, Ishaku Yakubu said they were released on Saturday, 10th July at about 7:00pm. No additional ransom was paid to the kidnappers apart from the 10 million naira earlier paid to them. Yakubu also disclosed that two motorcycles were given to the bandits before they were released.

Kidnapped Jos lawyer regains freedom

A lawyer who was kidnapped by gunmen in Jos on Monday evening, July 5, has regained freedom. Gyang Zi was driving home after closing from work when the gunmen attacked him within the Little Rayfield Government House in Jos and kidnapped him, leaving his car behind. His car was later found on Tuesday morning, July 6, with the windows wound down on an untarred road beside the fence of the Government House. The bread he had bought was visible in the car seat. A resident who saw the car filmed it and expressed concern that the owner of the car might have been kidnapped since the car had been there since the previous night and a beeping sound was coming from the car. The senior lawyer eventually regained freedom on Tuesday evening allegedly after N10 million ransom was paid.

Kidnapped former Kogi lawmaker, six others regain freedom after payment of N15m ransom, N100,000 recharge cards

A former member of Kogi State House of Assembly, Friday Makama Sanni and six others have regained their freedom after paying N15 million ransom and N100,000 naira recharge cards to the kidnappers. MCI reported that the gunmen stormed Hilltop Hotel in Tunga Maje village near Zuba in Abuja and kidnapped Sanni, Prince Frederick Adejoh (Oma Onu Aya), and five others on Thursday, June 24. Abducted Mission School student regain freedom

The student of Kings School otherwise known as Capro Secondary Mission School located at Gana Ropp in Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State who was kidnapped by unknown gunmen on April 29, has regained freedom. LIB reported earlier that 4 students were kidnapped during the attack but while three of the students escaped,  one remained in captivity. Spokesman of Operation Safe Haven, Major Ibrahim Shittu said on Sunday May 2 that troops rescued the remaining student in captivity on Saturday May 1. Shittu who said no ransom was paid to secure the student’s release, added that the rescued student is in good health condition and has since been reunited with other students in the college.

The owner of Agbo Hotel in Ogbomoso in Oyo State, Oyedokun Oyeniyi; his wife, Busayo Oyedokun, and seven others including their children that were kidnapped by unknown gunmen, have regained their freedom. LIB had earlier reported that the gunmen stormed the hotel on Saturday night, April 24 and abducted the victims. However, on Wednesday, April 21, an Accra High Court granted her bail at GH¢80,000 with two sureties, pending an appeal by her lawyer Andy Vortia. Kidnapped Ekiti Monarch Regains Freedom after 5 Days

Kidnapped Traditional Ruler of Ilemeso in Ekiti State, David Oyewunmi has regained freedom after spending five days in captivity. LIB reported earlier that Oyewunmi was kidnapped on April 16 at his palace after gunmen scaled the fence of the palace. Ekiti police spokesperson, Sunday Abutu who confirmed that the monarch has been released added that he is currently receiving medical attention at a health facility within the state following the trauma he experienced at the hands of the kidnappers. Channels Television reported that Abutu linked the release of the monarch to a combined effort of the police and local security outfits in the state.

Pastor Adeboye Visits Governor El-Rufai days after eight of his Church Members Regained their Freedom from Kidnappers

The general overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, today April 13, met with Kaduna state governor, Nasir El-Rufai,  days after eight of his church members regained their freedom. Immediate past governor of Ekiti state, Peter Ayodele Fayose, has regained his freedom from the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, as he has met his bail conditions. According to his aide, Lere Olayinka, the former governor filed all the necessary documents before the court for verification on Friday and should be out of EFCC custody today (Monday). A Federal High Court in Lagos presided over by Justice Mojisola Olatiregun on Wednesday granted Fayose N50 million bail and ordered him to deposit his passport with the court as part of his bail conditions. The former governor was also asked to provide a surety who must have landed property in Lagos. The surety is also required to have three-year tax clearance in Lagos. Alleged abducted Senator representing Kogi West, Senator Dino Melaye has regained his freedom from his alleged abductors. Senator Melaye who took to his twitter handle to announce his freedom said he spent 11 hours in the wilderness. It is not clear what exactly happened or why he was taken to the wilderness by his alleged abductors or  even how he regained his freedom but the senator thanked God and Nigerians for letting him escape “dangerous attacks” and for their prayers, respectively.
