You can’t break my unbeaten record, Tyson Fury tells Anthony Joshua

Tyson Fury believes he will never lose his unbeaten record, despite the looming threat of fights against dangerous punchers such as Deontay Wilder and Anthony Joshua. Fury defends his WBC belt against Wilder on October 9, which could finally set up an undisputed world title showdown against Joshua. Joshua risks his world titles against Oleksandr Usyk on September 25, live on Sky Sports Box Office, but Fury has appeared to dismiss the threat posed by his heavyweight rivals. Speaking in an interview with Gary Neville’s The Overlap, which contains language some may find offensive, Fury said, “I’ve never lost a fight. I don’t think I’ll ever lose a fight, no. I don’t think I will. “I don’t think there’s nobody out there to beat me.” Joshua has reiterated his desire for a...

Mexico escape brawl with Canada to book highly-anticipated USMNT rematch

Play was extended well beyond the 90th minute due to homophobic chants heard in the Mexican section, giving El Tri enough time to secure a winner There were moments in Thursday night's Gold Cup clash with Canada where Mexico were on the ropes. It looked a very real possibility that El Tri's run could end in disaster for a team that has only two possible outcomes: trophy or failure. Yet for all of the nervy moments, Mexico did what they usually do: win Gold Cup games, no matter how ugly things have to get for them to do so. Somehow, someway, we got the Gold Cup final we all expected. After seeing the U.S. men's national team book their spot with a gritty win over Qatar, Canada gave Mexico everything they could handle in the other semifinal. It wasn't enough, for one reason ...

Fury and Wilder face to face – expect mind games!

The last time Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder sat at a press conference to debate their fight, the first meaningful blow was landed. Trouble was, Wilder did not realise. "What I did last time wasn't good enough so I'm changing it up, and we'll look for the knockout," Fury said. "It's a bold move to fight fire with fire. But there it was, not so much a clue but a clear and obvious declaration from Fury that he intended to perform a 180-degree about-turn with his tactics. Sure enough, he rampaged through a startled Wilder in seven dominant rounds of their rematch. They will come head to head for the first time since Wilder was left bloodied and floored, his unbeaten record and fearsome aura in tatters, on Tuesday at 9pm to officially announce a trilogy match for July 24 in L...

Tyson Fury believes Deontay Wilder has not yet mentally recovered from their rematch. Back in February 2020, Fury stopped Wilder in the seventh round to capture the WBC heavyweight title. Wilder has been out of the ring since the loss to Fury. A planned trilogy was scheduled for July of last year, but then delayed several times due to the coronavirus pandemic. Fury and his team eventually announced that Wider's rematch clause had expired and they would fight someone else. Wilder then filed a legal action to enforce the rematch clause. The two sides are involved in an ongoing arbitration process, with a decision yet to be made. Fury meanwhile is close to finalizing a deal to face Anthony Joshua, who holds the IBF, IBO, WBA, WBO world titles. Their fight would li...
