Imo Poly Student and his Sister Die in Ghastly auto crash while travelling to Port Harcourt for their Mother’s Birthday

A student of the Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri, Ifeanyi Daniel Iwuanyanwu and his sister, Vera, have died in a ghastly motor accident. It was gathered that the accident occurred on Monday night, May 2, while the siblings were travelling to Port Harcourt, Rivers state, to celebrate their mother's birthday. Both reportedly died on the spot. Until his death, Daniel was the general course representative of the Department of Science Laboratory Technology. The death of the siblings, said to be the only children of their parents, has thrown the entire polytechnic community into mourning. Updated: Lagos State Government Bans Religious Gathering of Over 50 Worshippers

In a bid to curtail the spread of Coronavirus in the state, the Lagos state government, in agreement with religious leaders, has banned all religious congregational service of over 50 worshippers.  The decision was reached after a meeting between the state government and religious bodies which comprised of members of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and Muslim leaders. Reading a statement after the meeting which held at the Bagauda Kaltho Press Centre in Alausa, the state Commissioner for Home Affairs, Prince Anofiu Elegushi said the groups agreed that all large religious gathering of over 50 people should be suspended immediately. 8 Corpses of Farmers Killed by Suspected Herdsmen is Exhumed in Delta for Investigation

The corpses of eight farmers reportedly killed by suspected herdsmen at Uwheru in Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta State, last Friday, have been exhumed for investigation. The corpses were exhumed by a search team made up of police personnel and representatives of the community. Two of the corpses were exhumed on Sunday, while six others were exhumed on Monday afternoon, February 17. On the same day the victims’ corpses were exhumed, the community confirmed reports that two others killed were burnt to ashes by the herdsmen. One of those burnt to ashes was identified as Itoje Dennis from Otor-Iyede in Isoko North local government area of Delta State. He has since been taken to his hometown for burial.
