Shoprite Workers Embark On Protests In Ibadan, Shut Down Company Indefinitely

Shoprite workers at Ring Road branch, Ibadan, on Friday, embarked on another round of protest, shutting down the company indefinitely. The workers, under the aegis of National Union of Shop and Distributive Employees (NUSDE), vowed that the company would remain shut until management acceded to their demands. The chairman, NUSDE, Shoprite branch, Mr Williams Peter, said the union was using the Easter period to press home its demands since dialogue had failed. He stated that all Shoprite stores had been shut down nationwide because the negotiation between the union and the management had been deadlocked. How Libya Deportee Kidnaps And Robs Female Corper In Benin

A Libya Deportee, Destiny Kelly, has been arrested and detained by the Edo State Police command for allegedly abducting and robbing a female National Youth Service Corps member, Joseph Jennifer. Meanwhile Kelly, (30), was arrested with two of his accomplices, Christopher Agbonugo (23) and another 29-year-old Endurance Aburimeh. Kelly who said he was deported from Libya in late February, 2017, said he organised the abduction and robbery on December 2, 2017. One of the suspects, Christopher, was said to have posed as a cab operator, while the Libya Deportee and his partner in crime posed as passengers. Edo Pensioners Accuse Governor Obaseki Of Plans To Divert Paris Club Refund Money

Scores of unpaid pensioners in Edo State Monday resumed their protest to call the attention of the state government to the non payment of their pension arrears and gratuity. The protesters who wore red attires, blocked the popular Oba Ovoramwen Square (Ring Road), as they sang solidarity and derogatory songs against Governor Godwin Obaseki. The protesters caused vehicular and human traffic in the area, forcing vehicles to use alternative roads. Leader of the protesters, Barr.
