Freeze Pantami’s Accounts – Rinu Oduala Urges CBN

An #EndSARS campaigner, Rinu Oduala, has urged the Central Bank of Nigeria to freeze the bank accounts of the Minister of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami, over his past controversial comments supporting the activities of terrorist groups including Taliban and Al-Qaeda. Pantami had since renounced his radical pro-terrorists comments, saying he now knows better but Nigerians have been unsparing and relentless in the call for the resignation or sacking of the minister. Youth Rep, Rinu Oduala Pulls Out Of #EndSARS Panel In Lagos

Rinu Oduala, a youth representative on the Lagos State Judicial Panel of Inquiry probing alleged killing of #EndSARS protesters by soldiers at the Lekki toll gate last October has stepped down from the panel. She made the disclosure on Friday in a piece, ‘Let’s stay the course of justice, partial wins are not enough’. The activist, who faulted the planned reopening of the Lekki toll gate, maintained that justice has not been served to victims of the Lekki shootings of October 20, 2020. The two youth members of the Lagos State Judicial Panel of Inquiry have resumed sitting on Saturday November 14, after boycotting the panel for over a week in protest against the freezing of their bank accounts and that of other #EndSARS promoters by the Central Bank of Nigeria. #EndSARS: Fresh Protest Threat For Freezing Of Protesters Accounts

Controversies have trailed the ex parte order obtained by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to freeze the accounts of 20 individuals and an organisation linked to the #EndSARS campaign. Many Nigerians especially youths have taken to social media to condemn the move by the apex bank.
