Badaru okays Eid-el Fitr prayer, bans festivals in Jigawa

Jigawa State government has agreed to allow people of the State observe Eid-El prayer. Governor Muhammad Badaru Abubakar disclosed this while addressing the State on the Covid-19 situation and measures to contain the pandemic. He said the decision followed a series of meetings with the council of ulama on possibilities to allow people to attend Eids ground for eid-el Fitr prayer. He explained that people were allowed to observed eid-el fitr prayer but with strict measures, including washing hand, wearing face mask before entering eid-el fitr ground and observing social distancing. Less than 48 hours after temporary closure of the busy Bida-Minna road due to a collapsed bridge, the highway has been reopened after an emergency repair and rehabilitation by a team of engineers from the state ministry of works and construction company. Bank customers experienced 278,966 failed electronic payment transactions on the Nigeria Interbank Settlement System Instant Pay platform on Tuesday. Sallah: Police Ban Vehicular Movement Before Prayers In Maiduguri

The Police have informed the residents of Maiduguri Metropolitan Council and Jere Local Government that there will be restriction of vehicular movement until after the Eid prayers on Sunday, June 25. The spokesman for the Borno State Police Command, Mr Isuku Victor, announced this in a statement issued on Friday. He explained that the move by the command was to ensure a crime and hitch-free celebration in Borno State. “The restriction will include the use of motor vehicles, tricycles, bicycles and animals except those on essential duties.
