Real Madrid defender, David Alaba, has tested positive for COVID-19. Real Madrid made the announcement in a statement via its website on Wednesday. The statement read, “Real Madrid C. F. would like to notify that our player, David Alaba, has tested positive for COVID-19.” This is coming less than a week after Real Madrid officially unveiled Alaba as their player. Alaba, a former Bayern Munich star, is now the second Real Madrid squad member to have tested positive for COVID-19 this summer. Popular civil society leader, Innocent Chukwuma is dead

Founder of Cleen Foundation, Innocent Chukwuma, is dead. He died on Saturday evening at 55 after he was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia, an aggressive cancer of the blood. The Federal government on Friday March 5 launched the COVID19 vaccination in Nigeria. The launch ceremony took place at the Trauma Center, National Hospital Abuja today. Recall that on Tuesday, March 2, the Federal government received 3.92 million doses of the vaccines from India. Health workers were scheduled as the first to receive the vaccines. The African inter-club competitions have been given new dates to complete their schedules The Caf Champions League and Confederation Cup are set to recommence in October after an agreement was reached by the Executive Committee of the continental governing body on Thursday. Both tournaments were suspended in May because of the coronavirus pandemic and there had not been clarity on when it was ok to resume the competition. The first legs of the Champions League semi-finals were initially set to be played on September 25 and 26, while the return legs were scheduled for October 2 and 3.
