Danfo buses will not be scrapped – Governor Sanwo-Olu says

Lagos state governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has said that the yellow buses popularly known as ‘danfo’ will not be scrapped as earlier reported, but would rather be remodeled to meet modern standards. Recall that in February this year, the state Commissioner for Transportation, Frederick Oladeinde, said the yellow buses do not have a place in the transportation master plan of the state, suggesting that they would soon be scrapped by the Sanwo-Olu administration. A special police team codenamed the Eagle Crack Squad has been scrapped by the Commissioner of Police in Rivers state. Police spokesperson, Nnamdi Omoni who made the announcement said the commissioner of police took the decision following a meeting with his Management Team after the squad were accused of extortion and unprofessional conducts. Mohammed Adamu, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) has announced the formation of a new unit in the Nigeria Police Force (NPF). The Presidential Advisory Committee for the Elimination of Drug Abuse has recommended that the adverts on alcohol and other recreational drugs be scrapped to discourage its use. An American online publisher focusing on the tech industry, TechCrunch, has revealed that a whopping five million emails were sent within 10 days by a group of 80 Internet scammers who were rounded up in an earth-shaking clampdown on fraudsters in the United States on Thursday. Out of the 80 individuals involved, 78 of them are Nigerians residing variously in the United States and Nigeria.
