I don’t know Why National Assembly is afraid of referendum – Ozekhome

Mike Ozekhome, Senior Advocate of Nigeria and constitutional lawyer has asked why the National Assembly is afraid of ‘referendum’ and ‘a people’s constitution’. The senior lawyer in an interview on Channels Television, recalled how he took on frontally the Deputy Senate President, Senator Omo-Agege on this issue penultimate Friday June 11 at the International Conference Centre. FG Should have Sued Twitter not Ban its use – Falana

Human Rights lawyer and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Femi Falana has faulted the Federal Government's suspension of Twitter operations in the country. The senior lawyer who was a guest on the Wednesday edition of Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily, said government is not permitted to resort to self-help in a constitutional democracy. Falana stated that what this implied is that government is supposed to have “sued Twitter if the organization refuses to respond positively to the concerns of the government”. He added that the lawsuit should have been filed in the United States of America or in Ghana where the microblogging service provider has its African headquarters.

Meet Muyiwa, The 34-Year-Old UNILORIN Graduate Who Is The Youngest SAN Ever

Muyiwa Atoyebi, a graduate of the University of Ilorin, is among the 38 lawyers to be conferred with the senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN) title. Aged 34, Atoyebi is the youngest Nigerian lawyer elevated to that height. In a statement, Hadizatu Mustapha, secretary of the Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC) said the new SANs would be sworn in during the 2019/2020 new legal year of the supreme court in September. SAN is conferred on Nigerian lawyers who have practiced for not less than 10 years, and have achieved distinction in the profession.
